New Badger NIL collective. Sparse site at the moment, but I like that they show volleyball third (after football and basketball). varsitycollective.com/Hmmm. But why is Hilley's number erased in the Vball image? Is it because she is no longer at Wisconsin? Or is the idea that they are focusing on the individual? Feels weird to have two players in focus and one without a number. They could have at least blurred her out. Everyone else they show clearly still has eligibility remaining (though I think softball pitcher Maddie Schwartz went through 'senior day' and is maybe not planning on using her COVID year?). So maybe still eligible vs no more eligibility? Or maybe athletes the 'collective' has contracts/agreements with vs one(s) they don't have an agreement with? I mean, can anybody say for *sure* that that is Sydney Hilley? Or Barnesy? Or Loberg? Or that it is UCLA on the other side of the net, or that it is from this year's NCAA tournament, or Mac May is at the end of the net, or... :-) Yes, it is weird her number is whited out.

I think it sends a mixed message - we focus on the individual, but to do so we erase this other one's identity! You'd think they could get another image where they wouldn't have to do something that strained. Or find a way to defocus Hilley like they do everyone else who isn't a focus. Only the vball nerds will notice, I'm guessing, but maybe that's the audience here? Whatever. Not sure why I'm bothered by an ad. It's good vball is getting top billing.

If they market the Florida game right and get the record crowd they are going for, it could be very cool. The "Fill the Bowl" women's hockey games were always a blast.

I'm not saying they couldn't do a 'Fill The Bowl' for volleyball, but the main reason Fill The Bowl has gotten the numbers it has is they sell the tickets for $1. And as such, people will buy the ticket and then not use it. The last one, 2020 just before COVID lockdown, had 14000 tickets sold, and *maybe* 7000 actually in the the seats. (Those who didn't show missed a frustrating game with a great ending; Abby Roque simply willing the puck into the net to get it to OT, and then the OT winner from Curl? SHirley? And email regarding hockey tickets came the same time; 'adjustments' coming there as well.)

The team is coming off a National Championship. Florida is a very strong program and we have a history of playing them in critical matches in the NCAA tournament. I think there is a excellent chance they sell out the Kohl Center. Love the concept. Hope it works and it can become an annual thing.

The discount tickets may lead to empty seats, but I also know a lot of people who rolled the dice and came with us to their first women's hockey game. It's a tradeoff that I think is often worth it on rare occasions.

I’m with buckypete - betting that with whatever promos they run, we’ll be able to get lots of friends to try out a game.

So, what are folks guesses on ticket costs? My guess is $12-15 per ticket. (I mean for the season not the Kohl Center match).
I may be the only one not interested in Kohl Center. Too far away from the action.
I wonder if it's a set up for the post season as a playing spot too.

Too far away from the action. I wonder if it's a set up for the post season as a playing spot too. It was $170 for 2 reserved seats last year, so that’s almost $6 a ticket for 15 matches. I wouldn’t expect it to jump higher than $8, as they still want to make this affordable for families and younger kids to attend. A season ticket pair at around $240 seems reasonable enough to me. I’m 100% in for a KC match, just to be there to break the record.

Do they?
Let's face it,we have been getting a bargain. Now that we have an NC, we will pay NC prices, creeping towards Nebraska.
I would assume the east side seating will be more than the westside. Seatbacks will be a big improvement.

Crazy that last year I could go see the national champions in volleyball play for less than what my typical order from Starbucks would be.
Probably explains why I don’t go to Starbucks anymore.

Seatbacks will be a big improvement. I fear my knees will disagree. They don't get much space now.

Seatbacks will be a big improvement to the athletic departments bottom line. Fixed it for you. I’m sure it will be something like $50 per seat back for the season, likely simile to how it is for football. The good news is that if these are optional, like in football, it will be much easier to stake out your seats and say “excuse me, but you’re in my seat.” I can’t tell you how many times I found people in my reserved seats, from people in GA trying to scooch down into reserved (section H).

Season ticket holder email just went out. Florida game will be in the Kohl Center! Also chair back seats in E, F, and G, and “price adjustments” for tix. So it’s safe to assume we are a week or so away from getting the email about renewing season tickets?
