Season ticket holder email just went out. Florida game will be in the Kohl Center! Also chair back seats in E, F, and G, and “price adjustments” for tix. So it’s safe to assume we are a week or so away from getting the email about renewing season tickets? "In the near future, we will communicate with all volleyball season ticket holders regarding further details...."That's all they provided. No date. They're waiting to vote in the price increase(s) at a meeting tomorrow.

I don't like the idea of volleyball in the Kohl Center. Not sure the atmosphere will be the same. Not as intimate. I do like the idea of selling it out to get the record though.
Hmmm. I want to see the B1G schedule before deciding on this year's trip to see the girls play. The last time I travelled to see them in regular season was the last time they played three matches in a weekend. Normally I see them at Rutgers and then maybe once during NCAAs.

I was actually wondering if you had gone to the matches at the Kohl Center in 1998. I went to one with a friend. Not a fan. It was cavernous and you were further from the action. Not a huge crowd, but it was swallowed up by the venue.

I remember catching some matches at the Field House in Fall when I went back to visit, because I definitely saw Sherisa play in person. But did not go to the Kohl Center.

Volleball will never move to the KC. Already Mens BB, Mens Hockey, Womens BB. scheduling alone would be a disaster, not to mention locker rooms.

Hugh did away pretty quickly with the once a year battle in the barn at Williams arena after he became coach. I think when they did have it they tried really hard to get juniors to come, maybe seats for $1 if I remember. I wonder if this will turn into a once a year thing at Kohls or just a once thing.

I’m not feeling too worked up about a KC game. It’s one game. It’ll be a good game. They’re doing it to prove they can. It’s not going to become a Thing. The Field House is home.

I suspect that Sheffield is doing it to show that the 18,000 fans at the NC match wasn’t a fluke, and that there’s huge fan support in the regular season too. I hope it gets a prime time slot on ESPN.

I hope it's not a "Badgers are terrible at Kohl" thing like Pitt when it played at the Pete. That would be a big embarrassment.

I agree here, but the real question is how many newcomers will come to the match and mansplain volleyball rules from 20 years ago gym class to the season ticket holders. 😂

I doubt this will be an annual thing. The Women's Hockey "Fill-the-Bowl" games I think may provide an example of the scenario. Since LaBahn Arena opened in 2012, the team has had three Kohl Center games. (All three are the top attended women's hockey games of all time, although the 2017 one actually has the record.) 2/15/2014 vs. Minnesota 1/14/2017 vs. St. Cloud State 2/16/2020 vs. Ohio State Theoretically they'd be lined up for one this year, but in any event it seems like they only try it once every few years. I can't imagine volleyball going to the well more than that. I also believe Mark Johnson has talked about the diminishing returns when you do it too often; the novelty wears off and with it attendance.

I'm just looking forward to at least one match with seat backs. Hopefully the build up the rest of the Field House, soon.

Friend...no...sit down.

Friend...no...sit down. I don't take close friends without explicit interest to vball matches to avoid this exact scenario. That leaves a couple locally in NY, but the badgers would have to play in the City to attract them to a match I think. New Brunswick just isn't going to cut it. An MSG or Barclay's vball show case??? Can the AVCA invest in growing the sport in the East? (Just dreaming here).
