Brilliant move. His next house will cost 5x as much plus those California taxes will eat that salary up in a hurry. You will have a handful of people in the bleachers passing around a bong. Oh yes....and the weather is nice where no one will care what you do or if your team is good or not. Way to convince me. You might not believe this, but some people don't actually like living in Nebraska. I lived there for five years as a kid, and I'd never move back. and we thank you

I’m with you. I think he’s got 3-5 years left cook that is. DBK is really making a name for herself and how does TH do that as cooks assistant. Cook is always the one that gonna get most that credit while he’s hc. I think TH has to prove himself on his own. I think this is spot on. Cook is sticking around for awhile, and Hildebrand is too smart and talented to bide his time as C2 any longer. Yes you can only go so far making your own brand as assistant. Cook has some good players comming in. I don’t see him going anywhere for a bit. This gives TH the chance in meantime to increase his value if he succeeds

I can contribute to the "living in Nebraska" conversation if further perspective is needed

Tyler this and Tyler that as if DBK didn't just win NCOY after like 4 years on the job. There's your heir apparent. I recall Sealy winning a title and national COY shortly after taking the head coach job at UCLA. A lot of smoke got blown up his ass on this board only to be deflated in the years to come. I’m not saying DBK will follow the same path, only to caution elevating her to this elite status after just a year or two of success.

The Nebraska fans who are stunned that someone would leave an assistant job to take over as head coach at their alma mater are hilarious. I remember when the opening first happened, Nebraska fans were absolutely adamant that Hildebrand would never leave. I could certainly understand that line of thinking if he was the head coach at Nebraska rather than an assistant. But since he's an assistant, I thought he'd at least consider Long Beach State. Again, I hate to break it to you, but a lot of people would rather live in Southern California than anywhere in Nebraska. A lot of people.

No place is perfect, but I do think that people like to project their own comforts on other people and I think that’s what the poster was saying to you. Obviously he’s leaving for a reason. Cook doesn’t strike me as a the type to hire stupid people that make flippant decisions. If that’s not what you would do in that situation, that’s ok - but hildebrand’s motivations for leaving isn’t for you to understand and MANY people don’t want to be in Lincoln, Nebraska for the rest of their lives. well of course because you are not partisan to the west coast and the Pac at all? Where is that emoji with the rolling eyes.

lol, you mean to say that 'some' players are not excited by this announcement? I would think Kennedy in particular would be ECSTATIC about this announcement Well I've only heard from a couple players. Can't speak for the rest of the team, but I'm sure they're excited. Unless you're one of the girls on the tail end of the roster, I can't imagine he's going to keep 22 players. I do hope he gets a quality setter from the portal. The school made them carry a huge roster.

Time will tell if it was a good move or not.

Not surprised he wants to be a head coach; suprrised he's taking a non-BCS job. daily49er.com/sports/2021/12/01/a-deep-dive-into-long-beach-states-athletics-budget/Men’s basketball head coach Dan Monson, for example, had in 2019 a total pay of $290,210 with an additional $108,608 in benefits; Monson made $398,818 that year, per Transparent California. Men’s volleyball head coach Alan Knipe had in 2019 a total pay of $170,039 plus $75,721 in benefits, taking his total pay with benefits to $245,761.

I’m told he had an impact of her brothers development..you know, the national Player of the year That would be nice, but don’t see her returning.
