When’s the last time a power 5 conference didn’t have a seeded team? Asking for a friend… 2017? No ACC

When’s the last time a power 5 conference didn’t have a seeded team? Asking for a friend… Stanford's SOS will be sky high. they will be a seed so long as they don't lose too many conference matches. Oregon and Washington will be a bit harder to predict as they need to not take too many conferences losses AND hope the some of their non-conference opponents have better projected records. Per usual, we need a few teams - primarily the teams mentioned above - to really only lose matches amongst each other in conference. When it comes to conference play, this is the biggest help for RPI when it comes to seeds. Manifesting it now - Stanford, Oregon, and Washington go undefeated against the LA schools. Would be great if we could ship them to the Big 10 this year.

I’m not sure Kipp-ball won’t drop more than a few games if Baird can’t get it going

I mean, Wisconsin played a tough preseason a few years ago, didn't win any of their ranked matches non-conference, did well in conference and got a top 4 seed.

Maybe Pac12 isn't doing as bad as we thought they were? According do the non-conf W/L ratio, Pac12 is currently 2nd with .750, just behind BigTen (.770) some historical references (ALL non conf W/L ratio) 2021 | 4th | .687 | 2019 | 1st | .790 | 2018 | 2nd | .784 |
Of course, this only tells part of story. It doesn't show the strength of the schedule. As long as the Pac12 keeps up and wins some big matches, I think it might not be a terrible season for the pac. And, just like that...DESTRUCTION in week 3. Can only hope we can salvage some solid week 4 win/loss records to get back in the hunt. How good is Utah, ULCA, Washington State, Colorado, & USC? Pablo right now thinks these teams are barely distinguishable to Washington, Stanford, and Oregon. Heck, Arizona and Arizona State offers a challenge per Pablo. This is greatly influencing the RPI Futures. IF, Stanford, Oregon, and Washington are mostly able to dispose of the rest of the conference - the PAC will get 3 teams as a seed and no one will be talking about what happened in the non-con. If 2 of them and can mostly dispose the rest of the conference, they will get 2 seeds; etc...

I think Stanford n Oregon only play each other once this year.

The Gophers were ripe for picking...the ducks couldn't deliver. The PAC is down this year. Except Stanford. I'd love to see a Hambly-Ulmer chess match more than once, but they play one time.

One other thing, and I've been following P-12 WVB for 28 years, UO was hitting directly into the block too much; not tooling it...or even hitting high hands...very often. You follow them more than me. Agree?

Hmm. I think Brooke is very good at going off hands, and using a variety of shots, but a couple of hitters like Lewis do struggle with that.

Bad news for Utah/PAC-12, no Robinson for the BYU match tonight.
