If they can pass. Scully was their only reliable passer last season and she’s gone. Botkin definitely contributed to the passing. Hammons did what she could when given the opportunity. But they definitely lost a huge portion of their passing with the only experienced player returning being Hastings, I believe. Maybe Barra? @bigwestfan2 -- any enlightenment? He can provide details, but Hastings was solid, passing nearly as well as Scully, but with a lot fewer receptions. Barra passed well but only had about 74 receptions, so not a representative sample.

How will Stanford's new Assistant Coach be for next year's season for the Cardinal? Will they make it past the 2nd round of the NCAA?

The true results of his hiring (he will be mostly responsible for/ instrumental in recruiting) will be 2-3 years from now. Being an ex-Head Coach? Can't hurt anything! He has proven to be a fine recruiter at Xavier and ND; no VTer here knows the real ND backstory.

How hard can it possibly be to recruit to Stanford? i'm not saying recruiting at Stanford is hard, but how far Hambly can take Stanford without Plummer, a player not of his recruiting, is the question.

Haley took a team that was preseason top 5 to a losing record in the same year, then the following year took the core of that team and tied for 1st in conference. He got COY for that, but, IMO, much of that was because he fiddled his way to a mediocre season and lowered the expectations for the program. Do I agree with the reasons, absolutely not, but it is what it is.

If Middleton actually starts and plays 6 rotations, then sure she's a leading contender, but I think that could be a decent *if* with Weske returning, Fields coming in, and having to compete with a senior Owes, plus others in the OH depth chart.... *shrug*.
