For me I think these losses sting a little more because our football team is also getting smashed every single week. Usually our Volleyball success holds over to keep us as a fanbase going. But when both aren't up to par this season....makes it even more difficult. But I still back my Bows!

Lol any Hawaii based chewing gum companies? Could make for some niche NIL deals for Caylen. Loved seeing Amber, Brooke, Chaz Galloway and I forget the other Mens player in that Bank of Hawaii commercial.

Does the coaching staff need an upgrade? Kind of feels that the assistants are still pretty green.

Does the coaching staff need an upgrade? Kind of feels that the assistants are still pretty green. Just replacing the expertise that is currently missing after the departure of Coach Ang. A blocking and offensive coordinator coach. Setting and defense are taken care of. Maybe a former 6 rotation Outside who can tap into getting more out of our first contact as well.

What people need to understand, this Wahine Team is still really young when it comes to playing time. Riley Wagoner, Amber Igiede, Tayli Ikenaga, and Kate Lang are the only returning starters. Tiffany Westerberg did not play that much her Freshman and Sophomore years, and Braelyn Akana, even less then that. Of course, Caylen Alexander is a true Freshman. When it comes to Riley Wagoner, she has been put in a situation where right now, she has to be the so called, 'GoTo Player'. A situation she did hot have to be in before. A situation that does not suit her style of play. Riley is a very good complimentary offensive player, whose strength is in the back row, as a 6 rotation player. Riley will never be a 'GoTo Player', that is just not her game. I give her a lot of credit for even trying to be that, this year. So people who knock Riley, should understand this.

Keeping my fingers crossed the Stella does indeed keep her commitment and signs her NLI with the Wahine. The Wahine Team really needs her. It will allow Robyn to move Caylen Alexander to Opposite, and have Riley Wagoner back at a more confortable position as a complimentary offensive player. The one positive, for Riley, going into next year, is her experience this year. Which should make her a very good complimentary offensive player.

Speaking of Stella, she and her HS team are included in a special tournament with some of the best teams in the nation. Great opportunity for Stella to be exposed to D1 college competition. Stella is the #53 recruit for 2023 by some ranking service To put this into perspective, her teammate Lauren Medeck has similar gameplay stats but is ranked the #7 recruit for 2024 espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2022/09/espn-to-air-second-annual-geico-girls-volleyball-invitational-as-part-of-espn-girls-high-school-series/ " ESPN to Air Second Annual GEICO Girls Volleyball Invitational as Part of ESPN Girls High School SeriesBy Kimberly Elchlepp Elite High Schools to Participate in Four-Team Volleyball Tournament, October 7-8 All Games Available on ESPNU and ESPN+ ESPN will air the second annual GEICO Girls Volleyball Invitational on ESPNU and ESPN+ beginning Friday, Oct. 7. Great game overall by the Bows! Only negative I can really think of is Akana really disappeared after a hot start. It’s like Lang sees her get blocked once and it’s immediately nopenopenope

5 Set Win vs USC thoughts:
Wags needs to play like that for the whole season. Smarter and limited tips
Ham made the difference I think, though her passing might have been sketch
Cay was steady and had timely aces
Kate showed some of her blocking
Tiff needs to stay in the middle, finding her groove
RAM figuring out that less might be more
