then maybe Stella can play Opp in her first year. Hawaii has good options next year Caylen, Stella, and Tali (if she comes as anticipated) is the triple threat.

Caylen, Stella, and Tali (if she comes as anticipated) is the triple threat. Tall terminator pin transfer maybe This should be UH’s #1 priority next season. The coaches need to recruit hard on a strong transfer!!

Fun night! Love how the Wahine figured things out.
- Passing started out ok, got good, then excellent. No more saving out balls... they got the memo. - More Ham, less Edmonds. The right move. - No 6-2 with Byrd. Props to the coaches for burying that one. - Lang got better as the night grew long. Could see her figuring things out. - Wagoner made the right adjustments and was very effective. Keep it up Riley! - Alexander is developing nicely. Still has freshman aw shucks moments. H% tonight wasn't great, but she was enough of a threat the defense had to honor her. - Westerberg got more sets, and showed she deserved more sets. - Tayli was solid. Would love to see her take more vocal control of the back row, a little attitude to go with that smile once in a while. - Oppo: Akana, up and down, but she did some good things tonight. There might be hope. But, de Goede still has a shot at winning court time there, if not the spot outright. Annika has shown her serve can be a difference maker, so she should keep working on that as well; her lefty serve can be very effective, and will get her more court time if she keeps it consistent. - Igiede did Igiede things, and her team kept battling with her. I sometimes wonder if Igiede appreciates the effect she has on her team, the team across the net, and the crowd. She leads with every part of her game, front row, back row, and serving. It's getting harder to see her come out in any part of the rotation.

I think the difference tonight .... was the crowded singing Don't Stop Believing by Journey.
Let's do that every match ...

So happy to wake up to see the girls bounced back and won. Happy for Wags! Nice to see her hitting percentage this match!

I think the difference tonight .... was the crowded singing Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Let's do that every match ... Journey is doing two concerts at the Blaisdell, Oct. 05 and 06. The Wahine host UCI and UCSD on the 7th and 8th. Smart marketers would reach out and see if they could make something happen there ICW the 'Don't Stop Believing' sing-along that's very popular with the U.H. fans.

Nice win for Hawaii and especially good timing turning things around the match before conference. As usually Hawaii will be the team to beat but it should be an exciting conference season.

It's getting harder to see her come out in any part of the rotation. - Alexander was getting some cow dung sets from Lang - the reason why she couldn't be as effective - Tayli was decent - she shanks too many balls - Akana is ok - still tryna figure out this one - Wagoner needs to still tip less - she got lucky - her rainbow tips aren't helping - Westerberg is a beast and definitely needs more sets, and better ones - Lang has issues setting all hitters how they like

If this is Hakas as in Tali Hakas future Wahine, then I’m on board.

I think the difference tonight .... was the crowded singing Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Let's do that every match ... I was tripping because I was thinking that the song is twice as old as the kids singing along in the audience, and they know more of the lyrics than I. My daughter said they sung it on "Glee", so maybe that's it.

I think the difference tonight .... was the crowded singing Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Let's do that every match ... I kinda disagree. After the 4th set, the crowd was going nuts! When Journey started, the crowd totally mellowed down. Going into the 5th, the crowd needs to be making noise to keep the team high.

I would love to see a montage of Igiede just tearing up the competition for consecutive points. She’s done it a few games this season.

Haha I didn't know the song had that effect! ... on TV, it looked awesome!! ... with lots of people in the crowd turning on the lights on their phones, singing along. It looked like such a unifying, solidarity kinda moment. Haha! Maybe Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer next time? Its tempo is more upbeat, and the title is kinda what fans and the team have been doing in this young season so far! ;-)

That’s another gripe of mine that was especially noticeable on Friday. When the team isn’t playing good or the flow of the game sucks, the cheerleaders can do a little more to get the crowd into it. Energy goes both ways, and when the team is low, the crowd can give them energy too.
