My prediction is UH will go 6-2 with Hakas and Wagoner going 6 rotations. Alexander and Akana will be OPPs and sub in when the setters(Lang and Matias) rotate to the front row. Love this lineup because this will give us 3 front row attacker at all time. When you add that both Hakas and Wagoner can hit the BIC, you add another weapon. Adeyemi could spell one of the hitters if they struggle but I don't see Stella being a 6 rotation player yet so she is going to have to do spot duties her first year and go full time in 2024 when Riley and Brae move on. Where do Alexander fit into this equation? She’ll be a 6-2 opposite next season then likely a 6 rotation opposite the rest of her career

I do wonder if Logan told Tali to go where she can play instead of going to a school and battling for PT and spending her time on the bench. Hard to get better sitting on the bench. I guess Hawaii is a good fit since Logan knows Robyn and how Robyn is big on player development. Tali's extensive international experience will be valuable. She has played in over 61 international matches since 2016 so she has played tons of volleyball. I don’t now about Cayley similarities but I said ohwebete similarities. This i agree with, Ohwebete and Stella both have incredibly dynamic approaches. Caylen is more controlled and snaps high and hard

Where do Alexander fit into this equation? She is going to move to OPP. In a 6-2, the setter get subbed out for a hitter when the setter rotates to the front row to give the team an additional attacker. Caylen can sub for Lang when Lang rotates to front left. When Matias rotates to front left, Akana can come in. As decent a blocker Lang has become, she is still being "picked on". With Caylen and Brae subbing in for the setters, this could help with blocking also. Lang and Matias don't have to worry about blocking some 6-3 outside hitter.

with all the new talent coming in at texas with most of their players still having eligibility… i don’t see devin staying there past her freshman season… it would be interesting if she made the trek back home.

Wow! So Hakas commitment was reliable. Just how good is she to get this hype? Also, who between them will get more PT considering We still have Alexander and Wagoner. Tali starts on the Israeli National Team and plays 6 rotation. She'll likely start at Hawaii. She's interesting, doesn't jump particularly high or hit hard but has a knack for scoring points. Tali is more consistent than Wags, but Wags might have the higher ceiling. Regarding Tali's jump, I'm not so sure about that. Her international bio definitely doesn't give the indication that she can jump. Listed her approach jump of 9-7 doesn't look impressive but I get the feeling that measurement was taken when she first got into international play in 2016. I don't think those site constantly update those kind of numbers. Here's a few picture of Tali's leaping ability. I would say its probably on par with someone like Braelyn who is about 2 inches taller than her so she jumps pretty well. Definitely not the 30" vertical of Caylen but definitely not 9-7...LOL She seems to be able to get both her elbows to the top of the net on block attempts so that's pretty good. www.photo.lu/gallery/tags/Tali-Hakas

Excited to see Tali Hakas play at Hawaii! I was really impressed with her when I watched Israel play this summer.

If she does then I hope she's better than what I saw at Texas she would have benefited more going to a competitive school she could have easily started on and developed as a player rather then ride the bench. i always said the same about yasmine bedhart ghani or however you spell her name, if she went to a school she didn’t have to play a back up role on… she could have been an all american.

I'm not sure she will come home though. I think if Texas gets too crowded, she will probably look at other P5 schools for a home. Maybe UCLA, USC, or even UW. I think UW recruited her and with Claire Hoffman graduating, maybe there is room for Devin there. I would love for Devin to come home but we need to find another MB if Anna still cannot go. We already have a logjam at OH. Maybe next season when we lose Amber, Tiff, Riley, Brae, Kennedi, etc... there is an open scholarship for her.

Do not forget, the one person who could have whispered Hawaii, into Tali's ear is undoubtedly one of the Best Volleyball Players to play for the Men's Team. I am talking about Yuval Katz, who is from Israel, remember him. He could have played a role in her signing with Hawaii.

Gonna be some fun competition in the gym next season to see who starts! Stella got lots of power and will be interesting to see what Tali brings in as I have only seen a few matches of hers.

Logan likely had more of a role in that’s Logan and Robyn are not the best of friends (they keep their circles small) but they have IMMENSE RESPECT for each other.

With all those junior grads I think it should be a good amount? I think a good transfer so/jr middle is a must so Maddie and hopefully Mili can acclimate just like Tiffany and Amber did their first year together. 2024 Senior - K. Lang (S) - T. Ikenaga (L) - A. Kiraly (MB)? - A. de Goede (OPP) Junior - C. Alexander(OH) Sophomore - J. Matias (S)(RS So) - T. Hakas (OH) - S. Adeyemi (OH) Freshman - M. Way (MB/OPP) 2023 & 2024 Needs - Middle (x2 if Kiraly does not continue playing) - Libero/DS x2 - Setter? ‘24 - Reserve Pin Hitters? As much as I would love to see Devin back and playing for UH in front of a crowd that would truly value her, I think the program is in really good hands at the pin with Hakas, Alexander, and Adeyemi. Who we could REALLY use is Singletary from Texas who played club with Alexander. A young Middle that Can play with Amber and the others next season and take over as the main when the freshmen come in 2024
