Possible, but Hawaii is great for a team's RPI which would be good for UCLA or USC. Hawaii racks up a lot of in conference wins and hasn't placed worse than 2nd in the decade they've been in the Big West. Add a Pac 12 team like Oregon or Washington to a round robin tournament, and it can become a very attractive to get good teams to make the trip. I hope after USC and UCLA move to the B1G they still schedule Hawaii. They might instead schedule Pac12 teams for their OOC preseason, or try to boost their RPI by scheduling Top 10 level schools from the Midwest. I think they will go next level in their recruiting - a recruit can play in the B1G, but live in SoCal - best of both worlds. It will be up to Hawaii to get back to being a preseason Top 25 team in order to make it worth their while. Hawaii will still be desirable to schedule. They usually end up a top 50 RPI team: RPI boost. They usually end up with a solid win/loss record: RPI boost. And I doubt they want all P5 competition pre-season when they will get all of that in a big way night after night in the B1G.

Hawaii is going after a little. A good one at that. Transfer or HS recruit? š® I know of current Freshman in Highschool, that Hawaii seems interested in. Not sure of what this poster meant though.

Iām all for adding another DS on the roster who can compete and eventually take over Libero duties when Ikenaga is gone. But looking at the makeup of the team at the moment and adding the two pins next season, I would think the scholarship priority is on a middle with eligibility left. Thatās the only thing that makes sense imo

The biggest problem is the lack of production out of the right side. Hawaii needs to go back to the 6-2 to help with blocking and the offense. Plus Jackie needs to get on the court some.

We have 3 middles coming back. We need an elite libero transfer, Ikenaga is serviceable but it's now the weakest position on the team. (Assuming that we have help coming at our last pin) Noā¦.Lolā¦.no. Libero is not the position that the program needs. Those 3 middles are all seniors, it doesnāt make sense to go into the Spring 24 without a middle who has been training within the program and building connection with the setters. UH Can bring in a walk on Libero and be successful just like they did with Ikenaga It should be painfully obvious from watching the top seeded tourney teams--their 2nd DS's are better than our libero. We just lost serve-pass to an SEC team. Schools like Wisconsin and Nebraska are giving full rides to DS's these days. We have none of our back court players on scholarship. If we use one for a middle, it will be 4 middles on scholarship. Our back-court is full of walk ons. I'm an Ikenaga fan, but she's statistically middle of the road in the Big West and if you want to make a run next year, it's the position that can be upgraded the most. You can pick up a middle from the portal in 2024, you don't have to grab one now. (Unless it's a total game changing player) (Seems the coaches agree with me at least if we are going after a small)

Letās see if someone enters the portalā¦.. Just not Amber and Caylen.. maybe Annika if she wants more playing time. Evans needs to work hard so she can take over the M2 spot.

Letās see if someone enters the portalā¦.. Any of the Covid Juniors would have announced before senior night. Plus I donāt see anyone leaving Hawaii with this loss as their last memory in a Wahine uniform.
