1) There's a pretty big lot behind Memorial, it usually fills up but if you're there a few hours before the game you shouldn't have an issue. If not, there are a couple lots on Linden Walk behind the Alumni Center. And if for whatever reason those are full too, you always can park on the streets around Memorial. Maxwell, MLK, Lexington, Linden Walk, etc. Also, meters are free after 5pm.
2) Both great spots! Personally I think I prefer the Southern Deli, that's my go-to when I'm heading to Rupp for bball games. Love their burgers and sandwiches and I think you get more for your money there, but Tap & Table has the more interesting dishes and a bigger beer selection. Can't go wrong either way.
If you're looking for a spot after the game, check out Kentucky Native Cafe. Just a quick walk from the Coliseum down Maxwell, it's in the back of a florist/greenhouse. Super cool place to chill outside and have a beer or glass of wine. Excellent - thanks very much for the information and suggestions!
Also, if anyone has any suggestions of things that first-time visitors should see or do within a mile or two of Memorial Coliseum, please let me know. Otherwise, we'll just walk the neighborhoods to get some exercise and check it out before heading to Memorial for a 4- or 5-set battle of elite teams. :-) Thanks!
Parking update: Parking Structure 5 on Limestone & Avenue of Champions will be free to park in and there will be shuttles going to and from Memorial before and after the game (It's not a far walk at all, but hey the option's there). There's also a parking lot on High St between MLK and Lexington if you want to park a little closer to downtown. The lots and the structure will all be available after 12pm. Also, I said earlier that you can park on the street on Lexington Ave, yeah don't do that, I forgot that street is permit only. Don't want anybody to get a ticket. ukathletics.com/news/2022/09/07/kentucky-volleyball-expands-match-experience-with-shuttles-friday/

I have a ticket for the Wisconsin game - Section B row 8 - you can buy it on Stub hub for $12. And you can find some out there for 9 dollars in the same section.

I'm not super upset by this loss. Wisconsin is a huge block. Lamb is going to have to learn to use it or learn how to reset the play. Grome needs some competition, something that will happen next season with Sarafa. We are use to a team who plays clean/smart ball. Hopefully it will start to tighten up and click soon. Love the Rutherford improvement.

Hopefully Craig will hit the portal hard for a 6 rotation passing left side for next season.

Hopefully Craig will hit the portal hard for a 6 rotation passing left side for next season. yes. but this team is gonna need to do well this season to get a good one. I think the portal might be a little less crazy next year in terms of the amount of athletes, but I could be wrong. an elite 8 or sweet sixteen at the minimum with the entire lineup returning aside from the OH spot that potential transfer wants would be appealing. I do get worried that if Kentucky doesn't have a good year that one of their own may leave

It worked well, as did the pre-match meal at Southern Deli. Thanks for all the tips! Good luck the remainder of the year (unless we meet again in the post-season :-).

Someone locked the latest "Hottest Coaches" thread, so I have to put this here: Who's the Kentucky volunteer asst. coach (not listed in Staff roster with the others)? He belongs in the Hottest Volunteer Asst. Coaches line up.

If Kentucky has strong player leadership they will be ok. They have to be able to keep time bomb from going off 😉

Trinity Shadd-Ceres is also an elite track athlete who wants to concentrate on volleyball, but also run track. UK should be a perfect combo for that, given the successes of both teams, and the World Championships won by Sidney McLaughlin and Abby Steiner this past year.
