I'm sure Xavier breathed a sigh of relief when Butler won! I don't think so. Xavier matches up way worse than Creighton than they do Marquette. Xavier was competitive in almost all of their sets with Marquette this year (5 of 7).... They got spanked -9, -17, -16 in omaha. I think Creighton had a sigh of relief... UConn is a bad matchup for them (as is St Johns for that matter). Marquette can deal with them lol I more meant that Xavier has an easier first round match-up (I'm guessing) verses Butler than they would have. It is ironic that the Marquette win over Creighton may have hurt them more than help them, but it was an important win in terms of getting that "losing to Creighton" monkey off their backs. If Marquette stays loose and confident, I'm not sure either UConn or St. John's will be a big threat. Just like I laid it out before the start of the season (or somewhere close to it) everything is set up for the rubber match in the finals.

Butler beating UConn today was a head scratcher... In a game a match-ups, Xavier might beat UConn, but Xavier doesn't match up well vs either Marquette or Creighton. I'm sure Xavier breathed a sigh of relief when Butler won! I agree that Butler winning yesterday gives Xavier a better chance of winning their first-round match.

DePaul played spoilers to Xavier tonight. (won 3-2) UConn can clinch the 3 seed with a win over Butler tomorrow. (Xavier would fall to 4) Nice win to end a rough season for DePaul.

Nice win to end a rough season for DePaul. I think it would be fair to say they fell short of expectations this year. Despite some untimely injuries on the offense, DePaul showed grit in taking Creighton and Marquette to 5 during the season. Plus having one of the top Offensive and Defensive players in the Big East, with the duo of Jill Pressly and Rachel Krasowski, kept them going strong. On to 2023!

1 seed Marquette vs 2 seed Creighton tomorrow 5pm CT Marquette and Creighton swept UCONN and Xavier to advance to the championship They split in the regular season but my guess is tomorrow it goes Creighton’s way with the home court advantage It’ll be interesting to see what these 2 teams can do in the NCAA postseason
