rooting for this team (and not just because i have blackwell on my fantasy roster) - im really excited to see how this pin trio/blossom do. GO TOREROS! i was there for them when no one else WAS. i want to see them make it to omaha.  |

It looks like Alfee is UCLA’s new head coach. I wonder how this is going to impact the Toreros. It’s sad that he’s leaving because he made a significant impact and definitely elevate the program. But I’m happy for him. I knew that he’ll be a great head coach. I wonder if Jimmy will be promoted to associate head coach or they hire another amazing coach with USA national team connection. We’ll see the Toreros in 2023. I’m definitely excited to see them play again.

There were questions about how much USD would miss Hilyard, so I don’t think Reft will leave a hole that can’t be filled. The big question mark, to me, is will Tercariol be the setter next year, and, if so, did she serve an apprenticeship under Blossom that could yield fruit next year.

There were questions about how much USD would miss Hilyard, so I don’t think Reft will leave a hole that can’t be filled. The big question mark, to me, is will Tercariol be the setter next year, and, if so, did she serve an apprenticeship under Blossom that could yield fruit next year. I’m crossing my fingers that the new associate head coach will be as good or better than Reft. Tercariol had difficulty adapting with faster offense. Also, her location wasn’t that great and could not set the middle. However, she is definitely a better blocker. USD needs an elite setter and an outside who can pass and terminal. I wanna see Hester play and see if she has improved. |

I thought Madill was better than Terçariol last year, but who knows what she learned under Blossom's wing. Terçariol had a good serve and a good block last year but that's about it. Plus, a lot of the hitters Terçariol was setting last year will be graduating and so she will lose the advantage of having prior connections & will have to work to build connections with whoever is coming into the program just as hard as whoever the other setter is. But again, who knows. Maybe she learned a lot and will be fabulous next year. Scooping up quality transfers worked well for Petrie this year, but losing Reft (who trained Poulter and Blossom to the FF) will probably impact their ability to have as much success with that as they did this year. |

Is anyone hearing anything on transfers coming into USD? With all of the players graduating I would assume it would be attractive option for setters and outside hitters.
Also, any rumors on who will replace Alfie?
