Has rettke ever played opposite? Whenever I’ve seen Rettke take swings off two feet, I’m not seeing much of a vertical. Her slide seems to give her more lift. Even her Badger teammate (I forget the other 6’8 girls name) has a better vert. Let’s face it, not every 6’8 player is meant to be a Gamova. But Rettke is still a special player and MB is the right position for her. Just needs to work on her reads mostly. she will never be Washington. Hits a nice slide but is so slow getting to blocks. |

I don’t think cuttino had to swing much out of system at minas because she hasn’t hit one ball coming from behind the 10 ft line. The amount of tips I saw was concerning. She showed us all what it would have been like if Florida let Alhassan play back row.
It’s a shame because I was excited for her to have a break out season. I had higher expectations for her especially considering karch was willing to give her as chance. Can’t really complain when the US has pretty damn good options at that position already. It really forced all the other attackers to step up though which was nice to see

But everything said is true? She still needs to develop and hasn’t been immediately dominant as some people thought. Her reads need to be better, and if her slide is slowed/stopped she gets a little “head casey.” I think she’ll get there, but is 4/5 on the middle depth chart. |

The funny thing is, if I recall correctly from a few years back, people were saying that Washington was too slow to the pins.
