Might not be elite now but you can always improve passing Kind of like how Plummer and Bajema have improved? That's why hiring Larson was huge. She will coach USA passing technique. Most OHs have to start learning that when they join the NT gym.

You don’t think that they’ve been taught the “USA passing technique” on the collegiate national team or with the youth national teams? I don’t think Larson coming in will be a revelation of a passing technique they haven’t already been taught.

Also curious, how long did it take for MBH and Larson to develop into solid passers or were they always really reliable there?

USA volleyball just went live on Instagram for an interview with Kelsey Robinson, who you could see on the screen, but the host who is responsible for “digital media management” apparently couldn’t see her so he ended the live session and said they’d be back. I feel like this is par for the course.

Larson was a pretty great passer, defender, blocker and server when she graduated. Her offense was the biggest question mark.
That being said, IIRC, Larson didn’t start off passing perfectly. There was an adjustment. In the 2009-2010 when it became clear Hugh wanted her to start next to Logan, she got targeted in SR heavily (I mean she was next to Logan and Sykora, it makes sense). In an interview once, she credited sticking out those matches (and Hugh for not pulling her) for her passing development at the pro level.

Coaches don't have time at Youth/Collegiate NT level to change passing techniques and the time they do have is spent evaluating players and teaching offensive/defensive systems. Changing passing technique takes time. I know it's not being taught at Y/CNT level.
