Samedy needs to improve her serve this is my most pressing “concern” with her game. she doesn’t miss it a ton but it’s probably a free ball at the next level.

Our #1 priority as a forum should be Samedy transitioning smoothly to the NT and getting enough promotion that certain posters can recognize her face mikegarrison How can she possibly be considered for the NT after choosing to stay in the NCAA last year? Her production efficiency declined steadily during her time in MN and Aside from getting set 40% more balls this year than either of her last 2 full seasons I don’t get what all the buzz is about…

Is Lanier as an opposite off the table? She’s good, but I don’t see her moving ahead of Thompson or Drew’s and samedy coming in will make that tougher

Well, I’ll respectfully disagree on the lack of improvement in her game this past NCAA season….and that middles have a greater adjustment to make to the international game than OH’s or OPP’s. She’ll have 3-4 months in Italy this spring to show where her game sits at this point. While all players have an adjustment to playing the international game, middles are probably impacted the most by the speed of the international game. The quick and mobile middles tend to adjust most efficiently. That’s not to say taller, less mobile middles won’t do well, but they also can benefit from improving their lateral quickness.

She is absolutely making the right decision to get out of Texas before her last year of eligibility! Needs a coach to break her of the habit of throwing the ball & get a more fluid slide attack. slides are overrated. the habit will die if its called intl (which are hit and miss) A slide attack is definitely not as valued or utilized as much in the pro ranks. It seems that the players who don’t have that skill aren’t expected to develop it (usually play MB 1 position), and the players that do have an effective slide already, are the ones who will run the slide anyway (mb 2). In other words, if a player doesn’t already have it, they can still be successful.

that's all fun and games in the NCAA. She can hit over Madi Kubik all she wants... but that doesn't fly in Europe. that's my point. Her serve hasn't improved at all... it goes under the net just as much as it goes over. She's not faster to the pins... she's defended NCAA speed instead of elite speed. anyways... this is derailing lol Perhaps (certainly) you are unable to keep up. She played against top international competition at VNL and her stats were pretty comparable to experienced middles. Her stats were lackluster at best. She was slower than molasses to the pins and basically non existent as a blocker. Plus, like Avid mentioned, the intl game is light years faster than NCAA play. She should have gone pro already. She made her choice. Ya'll just don't get all shocked and shaken IF she doesn't break onto the A team until she improves in all the areas Avid mentioned. USA is Olympic Champion now. The bar has been raised.

Stop talking sh*t, particularly if you know literally nothing a quick Google search could have provided.

But you do you honey.

Still waiting for yours. 🙄 And I really don't care to know you but thanks. There is no arguing competition ramps up when all teams send A squads, but VNL had many. Also no arguing 442 isn't great.
