The Wahine just need to do their job tomorrow night. Not fall into the same trap that UCSB did tonight at UCD Aggies.

I think the Gauchos underestimated UC Davis. They swept the Mustangs in their first meeting. They didn't expect UC Davis to put up a fight.

This was definitely a trap game for UCSB. The Gauchos were probably looking ahead to their match with the Wahine next weekend. The Wahine Team should not fall into a trap match with Cal Poly, since the Wahine Team wants to show Cal Poly that their first match was just a fluke. Playing the match without their starting Libero. Now with the whole team intact, the Wahine Team will want to show Cal Poly why they lead the BWC.

UC Davies will be a very dangerous team if they can replace their 6'5 Middle, and bring in some missing parts to their team. They are just 2 or 3 players away from being a true contending team for the BWC Title.

It is starting to look like the BWC will be a 4 or 5 team battle for the BWC Title, in the coming years. If the bottom half of the conference teams can close the gap it will make the BWC a much stronger Conference.

Let’s not look past into the future. Let’s focus on the games this week.

Wow that 3rd set won by UC Davis by 40 to 38! Crazy New NCAA record for most points in a single set? Oregon beat Minnesota in the sweet16 41-39 in the second set Washington beat Washington State last year in the fourth set 46-44 to force a 5th

Would love to see the BWC be as competitive as the WCC. It can be accomplished. I believe the BWC Teams have the right Head Coaches in place, at least the Top Echelon Teams do. Just need the Bottom half teams to make the commitment to improve, both Coaching, playes, and schedule wise.

Would love to see a BWC vs WCC Challenge matches in the pre-conference schedule. Just like the B1G and PAC 12 have been doing. It would definitely help the BWC.

BW AQ status as of matches through 11/17; with three matches remaining each for UCSB and CP; and four matches remaining for Hawai'i: - Eliminated by #conf. losses or H2H tiebreaker: CSUN; CSUB; UCR; UCD; UCSD; CSUF; UCI; Beach (if Beach wins out and Hawai'i loses out and they tie Hawai'i, they still lose the H2H with Hawai'i). - Edge of the bubble: CP. 'Best chance' AQ path is to win out, and; have UCSB lose two out of their next three remaining with UCR, CSUN, and Hawai'i; and have Hawai'i lose to CP and either CSUB, UCSB, or CSUN. - Aware of the bubble: UCSB. With three matches remaining, they now need Hawai'i to lose at least two of their last four, with their 'Best chance' AQ path being Hawai'i losing to CP and UCSB; and UCSB also beating UCR or CSUN. - In control of their own fate: Hawai'i.
Both CP and Hawai'i will find motivation for a win on Friday. CP needs it to keep the little chance they have for an AQ alive; Hawai'i needs it to have a chance at grabbing the AQ at home on Sunday* when they play CSUB on Senior Night, and avoid a more difficult path to the AQ. Also, Hawai'i currently has RPI 35, and wants to keep it no worse than the low 40s. If they keep their RPI low they maintain the possibility of tournament selection w/o the AQ, and possibly a more favorable bracket should they get in.
* If UCSB loses to UCR on Saturday, Hawai'i can lock down the AQ this week with wins against CP and CSUB.
