BW AQ status as of matches through 11/18: - Eliminated by #conf. losses: CSUN; CSUB; UCR; UCD; UCSD; CSUF; UCI; Beach; CP. - Edge of the bubble: UCSB. There are three matches remaining each for UCSB and Hawai'i, and UCSB is down two in the loss column. The UCSB 'Best chance' AQ path is they win out vs. UCR*, CSUN, and Hawai'i, and; they need help from either CSUB or CSUN to defeat Hawai'i, and; they need help from CP to earn a 3rd place finish. CP has two remaining matches with UCSD and UCI, and are tied at 13-5 with Beach. Beach has three remaining matches with UCI, UCD, and UCR. - In control of their own fate: Hawai'i.
Hawai'i currently has RPI 35. If they keep their RPI low they maintain the possibility of tournament selection w/o the AQ.
* If UCSB loses to UCR on Saturday, Hawai'i can lock down the AQ this week with a win against CSUB.

UCI sweeps LBSU UC Davis 3-1 over CSUN Cal Poly probably will finish 3rd That means Hawaii can only afford to lose one game otherwise they will lose the tiebreaker to UCSB.

UCSB has three. they have three games remaining. 1 loss, they get the AQ. 2 losses, they get a share of the title but lose the AQ (possible bid but you can never be sure) 3 losses they don't get anything. they can afford only 1 loss.

If Hawaii loses one match they are still ahead of UCSB, they lose two matches then they tie with UCSB. Cal Poly will be the tiebreaker. UCSB swept series with CP. Hawaii is 1-1 with CP. I think my math is correct?

If Hawaii loses 2 matches but beats UCSB, they are the Big West Champs and get the AQ.

Pointless discussion as Hawaii is currently 16-1 in conference with only 3 games remaining. They’re not losing 2 of their last 3 matches. I don’t think they’ll lose another conference match. No disrespect to a good Gauchos team but Hawaii is the best team on the conference.

What your message was assuming was that UH already had one additional loss and if they lost another game, that would make them tied with UCSB, which would mean they would lose the tie-breaker to UCSB. Ī thought if they didn't lose to UCSB but to the two other teams, then UH would still take the title since head-to-head UH would have two wins over UCSB.

No disrespect to a good Gauchos team but Hawaii is the best team on the conference. Right. I'm confused why people keep assuming as if Hawaii will lose 2 of 3 games. Lol Again, not to be cocky or overconfident at all. I just feel Hawaii will handle business like they have all conference season long. And it won't stop just because they beat Cal Poly.
