deep down, everyone is a poly fan i guess. I'm excited for this season to start. Who is replacing dueck? I would say it is among Layla Haberfield (RS Soph), Jolei Akima (the Junior transfer) and MacKenzie Ewen (true freshman). Jolei Akima's stats are OK,...not exactly jumping off the page. Perhaps her two years of D1 experience prove to be rewarding as a junior-to-be. |

How will the preseason polling view team CAL POLY,...with the return of the All-American Maia Dvoracek to the line-up??? Three POLY returning players may become super important in 2022. They had a chance to gain playing experience as RS freshman in 2021. The Three are; Amy Hiatt, OH Kate Slate, MB Annabelle Thaklen, OH My guess these Three will be backing up the starters. But,...based on their performance will see more and more time on the court. |

Does anyone have an idea what the CAL POLY's athletic dept. budget is for women's volleyball?
And, how does it compare with the P5 teams?

I disagree on the notion of a good team this year, been around poly vball for a long time and this team is looking to fall short as they did last year. Stockham's shoulder looking weak... Seems to have lost that cannon of an arm. Injuries still slowing down Dvoracek, recovery seems to be taking it's time. Biggest issue I see this year is underperforming middles and lack of leadership

Is it time for a coaching change at cal poly?? After racking up a few more successful seasons at UCSB as an assistant what do you think of potentially hiring and bringing Adlee Van Winden back home as a head coach? |

Is it time for a coaching change at cal poly?? nope, Walters has been successful. what reason would there be to think there should be a change? pretty pre-mature to even bring it up I think recruiting this year does not appear to have been teh best, but we'll see with the frosh. All Big West teams didn't seem to be able to get impact xfers (and previously Walters got some nice xfers), except for LB. And I do wonder if that is going to be a real issue in teh next few years for teh Big West with better players transferring out without 're-loading' with equivalent talent from the portal Walters has kept Poly in teh upper tier so there's no justification to change. Her recruiting does seem to be more in NorCal which all coaches tend to have some better connections in some areas than others. |
