Looks like CAL POLY will finally see the return of Avalon DeNecochea, setter, for these final NC matches. My hope is Bullis is moved to the libero position when DeNecochea returns as the setter. can you elaborate on why in hades Walters would replace a libero who is better at receiving, passing, and serving with Bullis? is the goal in doing that for Walters to lose her job? now maybe rotating Bullis in the back-row for Stockham would do wonders for the Cal Poly attack.

I like Bullis,...I like her size 5'10 and athleticism more than 5'6 Akima. I believe switching from setter to libero will not be a big challenge for Bullis. DeNecochea returns then someone needs to come out,...my choice Akima! Why would you want to replace Stockham in the back-row?

Why would you want to replace Stockham in the back-row? so for the libero position, you think size matters? you just want Bullis at libero because she's more athletic? what makes her a more athletic passer than Akima? as to Stockham, she's is simply not going to be effective with carrying the load of an all-around OH, she struggles to receive / pass quite a bit, which in turn hinders her attack, teams go after her over and over, and there's a reason. She's got a target all over her jersey that says 'serve to me'. putting Bullis in place of Akima would likely compound Cal Poly's #1 issue.

Is this team really 0-7!?!? What is happening here? I hate to say it, but a coaching change is what is probably needed. The squad has talent. But too many poor decisions are being made. I haven't the slightest idea of what's going on in practice. But what ever they are doing is not working. I'm looking at a sub .500 season after we had 20 wins just 2 years ago? Complacency has set in.

Complacency has set in. I think it's a hard season to gauge so far. can't base it solely on this season's start. Denocchea hasn't played yet. I'd say it was a lackluster off-season for recruiting. to call for a coaching changes seems a bit pre-mature. I've noted not a big fan of the non-conference scheduling. All road games the last few years, very tough schedule, it almost seems masochistic. but so is losing a grip on two huge wins they were close to with Pepperdine and Wash still not ruling out that they can't win the Big West, despite the 0-7 record, but they have to get a lot more consistent in serve-receive. they could go 0-3 this weekend, could go 3-0, it'll be interesting. I do think when they start conference, they'll have a 'reset' so to speak, which hasn't really helped the conference with this record so far.

jake Cal Poly squeezes out a 26-24 1st set win over Santa Clara.
And Amy Hiatt has 3 kills in 6 swings hitting 0.500.
So far so good.

Hopefully after these wins and solid games from akima you keyboard warriors can cut the nonsense about setters playing libero and focus on something reasonable

Good on Cal Poly no longer being the best winless squad in the country!
