Hey guys, is Phekran Kong the projected starter at MB this season along with Tillman? Any thoughts on her? I know first coming in she had potential but was a bit of a raw player. Would assume she's polished that up some? That was my assessment from watching spring play. She has definitely polished her game a bit, and I thought she was a bit more effective than Cara Crese. I think there's potential to also see Crese get some time, at least early in the season and see how it shakes out. But my prediction is that PK gets the bulk of that spot in the end.

Preseason rankings out, of course. I saw them this afternoon briefly, but, you know, gotta do work to make the money.
UofL at 4. Reasonable, I think.
We play 10 matches in our regular season schedule against teams in the top 25; Pitt x2, OSU, GT x2, UK, Purdue, Stanford, WKU, and San Diego. Another 4 against RV teams; Miami, UNC x2, and FSU.

Looking forward to the Card Classic Labor Day weekend! I was able to get tix to all 3 games. Always fun to watch the cardinals but very interested to see if OH St and SD live up to their hype too. Buckeyes could be a force. SD is stacked with returners and transfers and has a freshman DS, Bennet from Lexington who had a great prep career so that’s cool she gets to come to home state. I’ll be curious if she gets to play. Sure to be a great weekend of volleyball!

She looked really good. Louisville has had some pretty mobile setters in the past, but she blew me away with some of the balls she was getting to. Of course, we've got a pretty good cadre of libero and ds'es, so it's not needed that often, but when it is needed, it's nice to have. She seemed to connect with the hitters on her side pretty well, no egregious miscommunications. Of course being an intra-squad scrimmage, we didn't get a look at how she connected with players on the other side. Overall, my guess is that she'll get the starting sport for the year and either Morningstar or Glock will get their chance to run the show starting next year. The closer position battle does seem to be for that MB spot.

If Glock or Morningstar feel like they are behind the other, they’re gone. it'll be Morningstar if one of them leaves. glock came in with a setter already in her class and a freshman setter coming in as well. glock was brought in bc DBK wasnt comfortable with what the setting looked like in 2023 and beyond. Lazaro will for sure be starting and Glock will take over for next 3 years

Lazaro and Glock are there in response to where Morningstar is as a setter.

You will love her positive attitude I got to speak with her very briefly in a post scrimmage event and that, along with what I've seen from her in social media, certainly supports your "positive attitude" comment. I'm looking forward to seeing her play, for sure.
