I love Pri lmao she is great. Like we know she is never gonna be that player but none could refuse coffee with Pri. Her aura is such a mood and reminds me of the Turkish 93-94 generation. They were so talented and did very great in U tournaments and even in the league but then realized when you make a lot of money you can enjoy playing the game of life rather than the game volleyball. It was also when Turkish economy was good lol so thankfully its bad now so there are no distractions. I wish y'all horrible economy too trust me it's the problem this tournament. China flopping after they started rising economically too. All signs. wishing for the economy to crash so athletes play better is a take….lol Trust me when i say my volleyball loving turkish friends do not agree with you. |

no lol just going based off track record the past 4 years the only event they’ve missed is the world cup (but they didn’t send their a team so who cares) I’m hoping they can defend their WC title this fall. After Tokyo I wasn’t exactly in high spirits but the tournament makes me feel optimistic  Screenshot done. ITALY will win against a ZhuZhangized China, replay of 2017 semifinal. I see a surprise bronze. Serbia will be downgraded by some unnecessary comebacks |

If this match continues to form then Italy is going to be the favorite for the WCs. I'm not sure that the US can sort out its lineup by then. No one can match Italy. Watch when Antropova joins the NT, Sylla gets back to being Sylla, new blood (FAHR, SQUARCINI, MAZZARO) makes our mbs the best in the world and Bonifacio, Lubian, also mbs, along with Piva, Diop and Ituma gain more consideration from the coach, we'll be UNBEATABLE. Beating a medium-size Brazil with a certain setter and 2 not so young mbs...we'll, that's SOOO telling. Forget Paris, y' all'. Later on, Italy/China/Russia will win every single major tournament. Stick to...PanAm and such |

usa has very high quality middles that they just completely ignore. They could be so much better if they would set them it’s quite literally insane considering how outside is the position with the most questions surrounding it… yet that’s the only position we wanna set. I get it’s hard to go against your “system”, but let’s play to our strengths. Get Carlini in there and tell her to set a more balanced offense (with an emphasis on our middles). I can’t watch Poulter set another shaky slide and our opposites have to tip half their swings. Let’s wait until she’s back at her Olympic level. I agree with this completely. |

These are some of my thoughts on the USA's finals performance.
Poulter's leash in that match was 3.5 sets too long. Karch is the most to blame here and I'm a lil salty. Plummer should have been pulled by the end of set 1 the way she was passing and not really killing the ball. After Frantti came in, we elevated our game as a team. Then, Poulter continued to struggle setting behind her. Our slide attack was non existent and our opposites were tipping left and right. When they finally took good swings they were making errors. I think every one of our passers got aced and we couldn't dig a ball off of high hands consistently enough. Serbia was playing a good strategy and USA was just sloppy.
If we have the deepest bench in the world, why the hell would the coach not use it more. I'm legit curious why he waited so long to make subs. Was it deliberate?
I'm pretty mystified now that I've had some time to think about it. The only thing I think Karch was curious about was if Poulter was in good form or not. I think we know our answer now. I truly hope she figures it out before the WCH.
It's clear to me that this team needs better defenders in zone 1 since we are losing MBH and Larson in the back row. If we are going to have issues defending zone 6 then we need zone 1 to be more fortified. Carlini is our best zone 1 defender. Whatever Opposite is connecting better with her needs to start. I wonder who plays better defense out of Drews/JT?
Krob didn't do great but didn't do awful either. I wonder if SWP would have been a better choice to play opposite Krob or "gasp" in her place if needed. I have to wonder if Krob can deliver in the big moments? We know Larson could do that.
Frantti's emergence was my consolation prize in this tournament as a USA fan. Chi looks solid. JWO was ok. Washington, Drews, Thompson and Poulter need to step it up.
I'm ready for this team to dominate. It probably won't happen in this day and age but I really am hoping that the USA can be dominant all the way to 2028. I'd love an Olympic repeat if not, a three-peat.
Work was nuts this week so I'm going to be catching some replays of the medal matches. I was really rooting for a USA vs. ITA final. Congrats Italy on winning gold! I hope the two teams cross in the medal rounds at the WCH!
