Guctekin got snubbed... Not even all-freshman team? that’s insane to me Maybe she wasn’t eligible because she missed two matches during the B1G season due to injury? Only way that is making sense to me.

its giving DPOTY... but not FOTY vibes from last year. frauds. you’re mad she didn’t win BOTH last year ? Lmao. She shouldn’t have been DPOY last year. But definitely freshman. Barnes was ROBBED last year. This year I’ll accept arguments that she could have gotten DPOY but last year her not winning both was not a crime lmao. When this happened last year, to me, it was saying they thought the margin between Orzol and Rodriguez was less than between Barnes and Rodriguez. I'm not saying I agree but I was definitely surprised. Giving Rodriguez FOTY and Barnes DPOY should have been fine, and would have made three Badgers still have awards.

She was on the first team all big last year and Orzol wasnt even on the second team. My point was if she was good enough to win DPOTY (which she was), she should've won the FOTY too well if you think she was better as a freshman than barnes as a senior just defensively than I follow your logic. I just strongly disagree that she should have been DPOY to start with so I guess thats where it differs. I think last year should have been DPOY barnes and FOY Lexi. This year you could make an argument for either Murr or Lexi for DPOY and I could see both sides.

I still think Carter Booth didn't get enough consideration. But agree that Hudson did not look good down the stretch. Obviously I love Carter Booth, I think if it were the last four weeks I would agree. However, I'm not convinced she was dominant enough early on. She had that great breakout game which earned her playing time, then she ran into a bit of a drought. If not for that I would 100% be on board (and I agree that she still should have been in the discussion more) I have no problem with Hudson getting the award. She was Purdue's offense, basically, in the same way that Fields is USC's offense. But Booth did more than just play well in the back-half of the season. Her overall conference stats are quite formidable: .401 HP and 1.52 bps.

Thoughts on Hudson over Allick? I feel like they may be placing too much weight on her early/mid-season performance My thoughts are more on Hudson over Booth. Allick was a pretty strong third option in my book.

Guctekin got snubbed... Not even all-freshman team? Markley shined for sure, late, but she only played 75 out of 117 team sets, so missed more than a third of them, yet she got all freshman.

Shaffmaster has taken some hits on this board, but I guess the coaches whose teams played against her didn't agree with her critics. They voted her first team all-Big Ten. So there!

I guess if they only consider conference matches Markley played a much higher pecentage of those (and no, I don't feel like poking around figuring that out lol)

Nebraska and Wisconsin ran 6-2s, Purdue fiddled with a 5-2, Northwestern had their two setters get hurt, Elisaia came on a little later in the year (and had changes in the lineup at OH and MB to try to flush out mid-conference season) while Shaff is setting two #1 recruits on the pins. This felt more like a default situation to me--not sure the last time there weren't three setters on First Team.

Like Murr is an insane defender. Do you Nebraska fans really think it was THAT much of a robbery… Ohio states block also sucks so her job is harder. Roddy would have been deserving as well and I wouldn’t complain if she won but I really don’t think Murr winning it was that big of a deal lol…

Kind of thought maybe Murr wasn't getting enough chatter during the year (except about being rude to line judges lmao), but Rodriguez being unanimous First Team and Murr not is head scratching all the same.
