I'm just hearing about Warren possibly going to the Bears. Man that might be the shortest major conference commish tenure ever (excepting interim hires). If he does leave, that's a big job opening and I'm fascinated to see who is hired. Same! While the guy surely can negotiate, I hope they find somebody who has a back bone with the University presidents. We surely can get the best available person with the longevity of the conference pretty cemented. |

A lot of people tend to think of the commissioner as the overarching "parent" of the conference with a lot of control. But, I actually think it's more like being the child of a polygamous marriage - with 14 parents. Lol. Doesn't mean that the child can't be respected and have a say, but the child has to be good at finessing that respect and ability to be heard. So, yes, backbone with the presidents is key. |

There is likely some truth to this, but I have full faith that Delaney would have told the University presidents to shove it when they said they didn't want Oklahoma to come in. |

What does this mean? Teams usually have owners or an ownership group, a GM, and a coach. Are the Bears publicly traded? As a Vikings fan I know the Bears are going to get the #2 pick in the draft because they sucked again this year. I also recall that they were thinking of building a new stadium possibly outside the city limits. |
