Let's compare middles here:
| Kills/Set | Hit % | Blocks/Set | Aces/Set | Digs/Set | Player A | 1.95 | .322 | 1.03 | 0.11 | 0.51 | Player B | 2.23 | .320 | 1.37 | 0.27 | 0.67 | Player C | 2.05 | .339 | 0.83 | 0.20 | 0.78 | Player D | 1.74 | .324 | 1.54 | 0.00 | 0.14 | Player E | 2.26 | .438 | 1.14 | 0.03 | 0.45 | Player F | 2.00 | .379 | 1.41 | 0.00 | 0.16 | Player G | 1.50 | .274 | 1.59 | 0.00 | 0.14 |
Player A - Bekka Allick, Nebraska (2nd Team) Player B - Allie Holland, Penn State (1st Team) Player C - Rylee Rader, Ohio State (2nd Team) Player D - Anastasia Russ, Maryland (2nd Team) Player E - Jess Robinson, Michigan (N/A) Player F - Carter Booth, Minnesota (1st Team) Player G - Rainelle Jones, Maryland (2nd Team)
SMH... Robinson leads all of these in kps & hit %
Even Hord is only at 1.39 kps, hitting .287 Colvin is only hitting .287

Rodriguez being unanimous First Team and Murr not is head scratching all the same. I noticed a similar anomaly regarding Allick and Booth. Allick is a unanimous all-Freshman team selection (along with Hudson), but Booth is 1st team all-conference and Allick is 2nd team.

Just going to throw it out there that I will be very surprised if a Big 10 player wins a National OTY award. Only caveat I'll offer is if Landfair somehow pushes the Gophs past Texas (Eggleston) and Stanford (Kipp) doesn't make the Final Four.

The awards make no sense sometimes in how the coaches are voting.. for example Hord’s stats were abysmal, didn’t have a good year at all compared to Robinson for Michigan who led the country in hitting percentage and had more kps, as well as averaging a quality number of bps, make it make sense. There are also a few other plays such as Smrek, Guctekin, Poljan, etc prob missing a few who should have made one list or another

Who was hyping her like that? Everyone and their mother was talking about how Wisconsin was getting a pro level libero, how she’ll be amazing etc, change Wisconsin etc We all saw her in the U21 Euro Champ matches with Turkey this summer, and no one was particularly surprised that she had trouble passing to begin. She has gotten better as the season progressed.

She wasn’t a great passer in turkey tho. I expected her to be a better ncaa passer but nah. But her second touch and defense are easily top 2-3 in the ncaa

Was the plan for her to be the starting lib before Bramschreiber had to sit? I think the plan was for Bramschreiber to be starting libero - at least that is what we had guessed. We all understood why Sheff had taken Shanel on after that tournament, given her past passing stats, plus there was the issue of GGs adjustment to the US and the NCAA. The NCAA ruling on Bramschreiber changed that calculus. I have said before, I'm not sure the way those passing stats are calculated aligns perfectly with the target that Sheff was telling his passers to hit in preseason (according to video posted on badger vb social feeds). GGs passing was really problematic early in the season, but much less so as the year went on - her injury aside. That's not to say GGS passing was as good as Rodriguez or McGraw. But it's her ability to keep the badgers effective in transition that was obvious during her absence. That was the key to the badgers success this year in my opinion.
