Why is Bradford getting overlooked at OPP next year? I think it was Koavball that said Bradford is further ahead than Galloway at the same stage. Galloway was good enough to start as a true freshmen. If Bradford is further ahead with a redshirt year, It seems to me that Bradford could be a legit option at OPP next season. Whoever wins OPP position next season, it will be hard to replace Dimi. Dimi to me is one of the all time greats at OPP in UH history. He's behind Yuval. He's behind Clay Stanley. He's probably behind Rado, but only by a smidge. After that I don't think there is another OPP in UH history better than Dimi IMO. I don't think fans are overlooking him. There is just no information/video/write up on him for fans to know anything about him. As for Alakai, Charlie has said in the past that sometimes, Alakai is the best player in the practice gym so Charlie at least gave a glowing review of Alakai. We fans know nothing about Bradford. The hope is Bradford can be that guy. He definitely have the size and arm to be the guy. How good is he...we don't know. My guess is DB is a project. He did not play at the highest level in HS and even at that, he did not pile up any type of POY award or much all state accolades. His bio on the UH website does not make him out to be much of a "can't miss" prospect so for him, he is going to have to work his way into getting PT.

Take a look at Pedro's stats for when he played OPP: 2004 (from the UH website): Played in 92 games at opposite...accumulated 361 kills in 2004...averaged 3.92 kills per game...season and career high 33 kills versus Lewis to help the Warriors capture the 2004 Outrigger Hotels Volleyball Invitational title (Jan. 10)...season and career high six service aces versus USC (March 9)...put down 53 service aces for the season...finished the season second nationally (.576 aces/game) and third in the MPSF (.448 aces/game) in service aces..

I hope you're right and hope we're not putting high expectations on these future Bows. I'm not saying they're not good because based on what I've read, he seems legit. But, part of me wants to be reserved on the type of expectations I place on players with zero college experience. Remember, Rossenmier and Matautia came in as top 5 recruits.

Well it's just my opinion. So I'll take the burden for what I just shared. Hehe He is every bit as advertised and then some. Now add in a setter who knows how to set this young man in Tread. And I think my expectations are reasonable tbh. I'm not touting we will win a natty when him and Tread comes in their Frosh year. Lol Too me...THAT would be too high of expectations. I just feel Finn has what it takes to secure that Oppo position once he comes in. But of course....it's two years away basically so anything can happen.

If you want to go Saturday…..better get your tickets now.
Going be a fun senior night.

It's so good to see the Men's vball team getting the support they deserve on a consistent basis and not just two or three matches a season.

I'll wait until what they look like as seniors before making any bold predictions. Finn and Tread are indeed talented and have some great credentials, but D1 is a completely different animal. Johnny Bowles (southpaw) was the #1 recruit who did not contribute much.

Well….Bowles did go to Irvine. Not sure how good player development is at Irvine. They always getting top 5 recruits but they rarely match their hype. I remembered that 7-0 middle blocker who was hyped but UH never had problem with him. Definitely not as good as UH. Charlie and the staff arguably do the best at developing talent..

I’m in the camp of enjoying what Hawaii has now. This is a special group of seniors/players going out that has really ushered Hawaii into the era fans are enjoying. Humler and Thelle have been favorites of mine since they debuted in 2019.

I just notice that there’s a lot of press releases for Kainoa. Now that he’s getting too much attention he is garnering a lot of national attention and possibly some coaches recruiting him.

If Hawaii were to make it to the ncaa tourney fans can fly into Dulles or Reagan airport. I think these are the two closest airports to George Mason University. United flies nonstop to Dulles and am not sure if American still offers a nonstop flight to Reagan.

maybe not official, but it's from the media, and brian mcinnis is as reliable as they come ... Thanks Cubi. Ahh man, what an amazing senior class. Steward and Todd will be six-year players next season. Wowza!! Their future plans? Thelle playing for Norway. Dimi for Greece. The rest?
