Kurt Nusterer redshirted this year. So he will also be a freshman with Trevalyan Kelly and Cole Ottmar. OK. The UH website didn't list him as one but they did with the rest do I'll revise. Thanks! I think it’s because this is his first year at UH but I bet he will be listed as RF next year. This Instagram confirms it. http://instagram.com/p/CY2iPqmPyOb

Is Kai Taylor and Derek Bradford expected to make an impact or will likely redshirt?
Any possible move of players? Kelly to OH as OPP has Dimi and Todd? Or possibly move Todd back to MB?

More than likely redshirt, think Wade is sticking to the plan of having the B1 & B2 teams being majority developing underclassmen. I wonder if we see Todd back in the middle for depth or bigger roles for other guys like Thiim who were very hyped up but I never understood why..

Not sure if you attend the games or not but if you do come early and watch the team warm up you will see why Thim is spoken so highly of. They guy has mad hops and a cannon for an arm. If you're commenting on him as a serving sub, if you watch him in practice/warm ups he rarely misses. He's Jacob Thelle like in practice when he serves. IMHO Charlie is trying to get him as many reps at serving sub hoping he gets over the mental block of being in the spotlight so he can serve like he does in practice - which is lights out.....

Not sure if this has been posted before but Thiim is working to get his serve in the "80s" or something. 👀
At the 2:07 mark.

Our serve receive and digging really improved in the latter half of the season. Like night and day. IMO Spyros and Brett elevated their game the most from early season. Spyros was Money! Dimi’s progression as an OPP was also notable, his sabbatical year did wonders for his game. He still got chicken legs though. Looking forward to seeing the Fab 50 red shirts develop next season. We should see a future with very tall pins. We could use another middle, outside of that we should be in good shape.

He gets his serves in during warm ups. It's during game time when he can be so-so but I truly believe it's a mental block like you said. Once he can clear that when the lights are on....watch out.

I wonder what Wade recruiting philosophy is going forward. Does Wade go after shorter, more athletic type like we have now or go after size? Size doesn’t seems to help other teams. That Mitchem kid really didn’t do damage to us this year and in the past couple of years, Irvine had that 7-0 guy who also really didn’t hurt us much in his 4 years at Irvine. Some of more productive MBs in UH history are only 6-7 or shorter. Voss, Dejan, Averill, Ring and Leoni.

Yes with Wade, size truly doesn't matter when it comes to MB/MH, but it didn't hurt to have some height at that position, especially w/guys like Lofy, Welch, Holt, West, and the Gasman, it didn't hurt one bit, but as I was watching the Matthew Enos highlight, I notice he runs like.......well like a big guy, slow and a little uncoordinated, even for a young kid, he runs like the actor that played Jaws in those Roger Moore 007 movies, just so clumsy. His height would be a value, but everything else, he's a southpaw playing MB, I don't know.

I’ll take your word for it. I know there was a long line in wait to play on the pin and he did get a couple chances to swing out of the backrow which I remember being solid, just wondering if his overall gameplay can ever factor in at the level necessary to be more than a serving sub. I assume his early eligibility being spent at a CC was probably do to grades and/or physicality coming out of high school? I have seen him in warm ups but probably not much of a sample size to really “notice” him.

He needs to bring this out in matches next season otherwise no make sense lol Will say that he seems to have great energy!

He’s tall, that’s all I got from the video.. He has no business playing middle tbh lol height means nothing in the middle of you’re slow laterally. If he develops as a rightside maybe give him another look later on but right now this ain’t it. I imagine Charlie Wade’s son is ahead of him in both positions.
