Do these publications tend to rank based on past achievements or potential? Positionally, I would think a 6ro OH would be above a front row only OH or Oppo.
Saw Flynn on her official and she’s huge. Legit 6’ 3”. No idea what her back row defense is like but she should be a force as a blocker.
Spears AVW Mullen Flynn

Bump. Who is going to be the #1 recruit for this class? It will probably go to Spears for her athletic ceiling.

Was there a reason Spears didn't make the summer teams like family or personal reasons? She's a baller.

2025 will be real interesting with Reilly and Flynn. They'll have the weapons for a 6-2, but Bergen will have a couple of years running the offense. Redshirting seems like the most logical decision, but I guess we'll see.

I watched Flynn at the Worlds last Summer and her setting was erratic. She is very tall and fairly athletic, so she has that going for her, but I don't see her beating out Reilly as starting setter. John Cook isn't going back to the 6-2 as long as he has a setter as good as Reilly. Cook prefers the 5-1 offense.

At Nebraska, red shirts are a way of life.

Sarafa (Kentucky freshman), Flynn (Nebraska '25), and Giehtbrock (Arizona '25) are all 6'1" or taller setters from Detroit's Catholic League -- have watched them compete with / against each other a lot and I think Sarafa is the best of the bunch (but ofc she is two years older so-- yeah). I don't know what kind of deal Skinner has with Grome, but it seems foolish to redshirt Sarafa is that is the plan. I think Flynn is insanely athletic and tall so she gets a ton of attention, but I feel like her pure setting is not on par with Reilly's and it would benefit her to sit behind her for a year to develop those skills.

Dominoes are falling, at least based on the PrepDig Top 2025 list. Sounds like there are 3 commits and a soft commit for Stanford, perhaps Mullen, Parks, and Demaria. That leaves Suli Davis, Asia Harvey, and Taylor Harvey rounding out the top 11, with a battle royale for Taylor Harvey between the usuals in Stanford, Texas, and Nebraska. Top 30 wise it looks like Jaidyn Jager is uncommitted (unless she's playing beach and it's not listed). Sydney Bryant is listed as uncommitted, but she is definitely committed to Vanderbilt.

Was there a reason Spears didn't make the summer teams like family or personal reasons? She's a baller. Because her passing, defense, and out of system attacking (which is what is actually valued for an OH at an international worlds competition) isn't currently better than a number of other 2024 and 2025 players.

I get that but she made the previous summer's team with a more veteran roster with Mullen. It was a headscratcher.
