Is China/Iran gonna be that lopsided? When they played in the AVC Championship last year, Iran won 3-1. It wasn’t a blowout. China beat Japan in that tournament (Japan didn’t have Nishida), 3-1. China has some solid players, and I like one of their undersized OHs. They have the physicality, but they will need to improve on many fronts in order to compete. Passing, setting, pin hitting all need work. China is at least familiar with Iran. Against the other teams, I’d also need to see if their blocking is up to task. |

Against the other teams, I’d also need to see if their blocking is up to task. hmm I havent kept up with their most recent results then maybe I'm wrong I am a big Jiang Chuan fan I think Japan and Iran put out A-/B+ rosters against China, and China at least competed (and even beat Japan). They also were competitive in friendlies against Japan pre-Tokyo. That was a while ago though, and I don’t know how their players have improved or changed. I’m still not expecting a ton from China and I think they will be at the bottom but I also don’t expect them to be blown out entirely. They might by the top teams but I think they should at least be competitive against the lower teams. Edit: looks like one of their main OHs Jiang Chuan is injured so might be rough without him. I think they might be missing another main scorer as well |

Wasn’t gonna watch that one anyway, but it did trip me up a bit. IIRC.from last cycle, Iran NT was no slouch. |
