Wow! Tough location to play in. Very old historic basketball gym only used for VB now. Good fans close to court. Was also the location for USD’s only conference loss.
Looks like Omaha needs to return the favor on their home court in the tournament…. Will need some Mavs fans to turn the tide…

USD, SDSU and Denver beat KC, ORU and UND in sweeps tonight.
Bison shocked the Mavs in Fargo.

* = clinched Summit Tournament spot ** = clinched first round BYE (top-2 seed) $ = still eligible for regular-season championship With just 2 or 3 conference matches left of the regular season, here is how things sit:
The Yotes have now clinched a top-two seed and BYE in the tournament. They are in first and are two matches ahead of the Bison, with three matches left. Denver could guarantee a Yote championship with a win on Saturday over NDSU (plus a Yote win over ORU). Or the Yotes could take it more directly against the Bison on Thursday. Or they could beat ORU, lose to NDSU and win against UND on Saturday. Lots of options. It's down to a Bison-Coyote Brawl....The Mavs were knocked out of contention for a regular-season title by the 5-set loss to the Bison yesterday. Now it can only be Vermillion or Fargo to host next year. The Mavs could still take the 2-seed back from the Bison, however. The Jacks can clinch a spot in the playoffs with just one more win out of their last three matches. ( #9, UND, NDSU) Mock Tournament: #6 Jacks vs. #3 Mavs (winner plays #2 Bison) #5 Hawks vs. #4 Pios (winner plays #1 Yotes)

* = clinched Summit Tournament spot ** = clinched first round BYE (top-2 seed) $ = clinched regular season championship With just one more weekend of conference matches: The Yotes have now clinched a regular-season championship, 1-seed and hosting for 2023!The 2-seed and first-round BYE in the Summit League Tournament is still up for grabs between Omaha, NDSU and Denver, who are all 1/2 game apart. NDSU plays their last two matches at the two SD schools on Thursday and Saturday. Denver plays at Omaha to close out the season Saturday afternoon! tie-breakers:NDSU would win any tie, due to their win over USD earlier in the season. Denver would win a tie with Omaha due to Omaha's loss to SDSU in the first weekend. (their records are identical vs USD, NDSU and UND, so the Omaha/SDSU match is the tie-breaker.) With Denver appearing to play much better recently, it is shaping up into a four-team race, with two strong dark-horses.... Both UND and SDSU are guaranteed either the 5 or 6-seed. All the Tournament spots are locked up!It's time for these teams to focus and lock it in....All of the final matches are between SL Tournament teams, so they are simply for seeding. However, they offer a preview for what to expect in the tournament Mock Tournament: #6 Jacks vs. #3 Bison (winner plays #2 Mavs) #5 Hawks vs. #4 Pios (winner plays #1 Yotes)

WIU has only won 3 sets in conference this year. I didn't expect them to be better right away, but I also didn't expect whatever this is.

WIU has only won 3 sets in conference this year. I didn't expect them to be better right away, but I also didn't expect whatever this is. Yeah, I'd take it relative to the conference, though. KC and ORU took a couple steps back, but they were upper-half to start. Seems like everyone else in the conference improved, some substantially. So even if WIU stayed the same, they were going to get pushed down the ladder. I think Coach Starr has a very young team, mostly underclassmen playing. Hopefully he can keep his better players out of the portal. Did you get to listen to the "7th Rotation" podcast interview with Coach Starr? rss.com/podcasts/seventhrotationpod/654287/

Thanks for the link. Injuries and youth are massively impacting them, but I guess I'm not that excited about the future of what I'm seeing. At this point I hope the new school president and AD take emotion out of the equation and move to the OVC. I think it's a better fit logistically and competitively.

So Omaha was able to get the 2-seed and BYE with a 3-1 win vs Denver, and an NDSU loss to SDSU. All seeds are locked up:
I'll predict an SDSU/USD and NDSU/Omaha semifinal. After that, I will hope for a second USD/Omaha final, but I won't hold my breath. Both SDSU and NDSU are playing tough lately. I will say that I hope that there is at least one Summit team in the NIVC this year. It's a great opportunity to keep playing, and I feel like these teams will be competitive.

I agree that South Dakota State has a good chance to beat Denver in the quarterfinals on Thanksgiving Day. I plan to go to that match. On Friday evening the Summit League Semis are at the same time as the Big East Semis, which are taking place downtown.

I had no idea Creighton was hosting the Big East Tournament! It appears that all the conferences are looking to capitalize on Nebraska volleyball fans these days!

Here's a Massey-projected odds for the tournament:(using Massey's matchup tool LINK)Denver wins vs SDSU 3-2 (68%) NDSU wins vs UND 3-1 (84%) USD wins vs Denver 3-1 (84%)
Omaha wins hosting NDSU 3-1 (88%)Omaha wins hosting USD 3-2 (57%)So Denver-SDSU and Omaha-USD are the two matches with the tightest odds. No sweeps predicted.
