* all rankings and SOS from MasseyRatings.com Looks like USD and Omaha are proving themselves against tough schedules, (Omaha took ranked Creighton to 5 sets) while Denver and KC still have a couple of question marks, have also both scheduled tough. Will be interesting to see if SDSU or NDSU can carry some momentum into conference play, and shoot for that #4 seed. |

Heartbreaking loss for Omaha, as they had a tired Creighton team on the ropes, but didn't play well against Florida St on their home court. The Mavs have a couple more opportunities ahead at Kansas and vs UCF this weekend. The Yotes had a good weekend, winning their home tournament by taking down an underrated Northern Colorado squad 3-2 that Omaha swept the previous week.
The Yotes have some beach time coming up this weekend, as well as an RPI game vs Stetson. Kansas City has a home midweek tilt vs K-State.
The Summit frontrunners have to be South Dakota and Omaha; those are the teams challenging themselves in the non-conference, along with Kansas City.

... taking down an underrated Northern Colorado squad 3-2 that Omaha swept the previous week.... Correction, both matches with UNC went 5 sets. For a common opponent, I'd say USD and Omaha right now look pretty similar. Maybe we will get a re-match in the title game? |

I was at the UNO/Creighton match. The Mavs were scrappy and tough and should have pulled that match out. Credit to Creighton for not giving up against a very determined opponent. KBB's shoe game remains at a high level.  |

KBB's shoe game remains at a high level. We were at the match too. I was cheering for both teams and it was a great day for volleyball in Omaha. Shayla McCormick's back-row kills in Set 5 were probably as high-level as KBB's shoes. |

But while McCormick was the player of the match, it was Sis who made the final two plays. It’s impressive how McCormick showed the ability to take over a match for stretches, and she’s only a freshman. |

For me, the main question in the Summit at this point is, can Denver join the championship mix or will it be a two-horse race between South Dakota and Omaha? |

Solid win for Denver at Air Force. I think Omaha will take a set or even two off of Kansas. That was a heartbreaker loss vs UCF.
Quality win for South Dakota over Stetson, too.
