Have been told that DN is still having volleyball. An email was sent out this morning to families. Here is an exerpt from that email:
"With that being said, we have some very exciting announcements coming your way next week along with the announcement of our 2023-2024 season coaching staff. We look forward to welcoming back several of our coaches who have put their mark on our club over the past 3 years."

TAV rolling out coaching assignments. DN you're up. I was curious. So what's the deal with TAV? They are now bringing back the coaches who left them? And then they give them the top gigs in the club and put them ahead of the coaches who remained loyal to the club? Is this also how they treat their players? Can someone with inside knowledge tell us?

There is a lot of pressure to win and win a lot when you’re coaching the top teams at some of these clubs.

And then they give them the top gigs in the club and put them ahead of the coaches who remained loyal to the club? Is this also how they treat their players? Can someone with inside knowledge tell us? They've announced 3 coaches so far and all of those three have been with TAV. Agree some coaches do not want to coach at the top level and all of the travel/headache/attitude that comes with it. I think it's easy to forget that club volleyball is a business. Is this how they treat their players? probably. I would be surprised if there was any club loyalty from mgmt/coaches to players these days (I'm talking top teams.) Their job is to win. If a more skilled player comes in, it's likely they will take a spot of a current player. They aren't trying to hurt feelings of players/families, but they are trying to do what they've been hired to do. All that being said, I have no inside knowledge of TAV, but this is what I've witnessed over the years from many clubs (DN did it when Ping and Jason moved there too.) My advice. Don't stay loyal to a club. Stay loyal to your player.

Yeah, I figure some of the returning coaches have not been internet "announced" since they will be still coaching at AAU/USA JR Nationals with other clubs. But rest assured that many of these coaches have told their players that they will not be coaching them again next year because they're going back to TAV and probably recruiting the parents and players to go with them. I have heard of at least two such situations.

I have heard of at least two such situations. This is true. It's also an interesting situation when you have one coach that coach's 16s at Club Red but is going to Club Blue next year. On the court next to him at Club Red is the 17s coach and he is going to club Light Blue. The 16s coach is actively trying to get his current players to Club Blue while the 17s coach on the next court is trying to get those same players to go to Club Light Blue. Its a fascinating dynamic to have the recruiting battle happening, in the same gym on side by side courts at the same practice time. And the new Club Red 17s coach is one more court over watching this happen knowing that he now is going to have to bring new kids in the door or kids that were previously asked to leave to make his 17s Club Red team.

TAV to have multiple Open level teams at certain ages.....has anyone ever seen this be successful? I wonder what other ages will have 2 teams and when those coaches will be announced? Not loving this slow roll out of names.

Interesting....I guess they wont be going to Skyline next season.
Ping can be hard to play for but from everything I have heard the girls progress more under his direction then most any other coach in the region, but that is also because he gets some of the best talent

I think if USAV and AAU would move Nationals to early to mid June it would solve a lot of issues.

I think if USAV and AAU would move Nationals to early to mid June it would solve a lot of issues. Well after a LONG time of USAV using July 4th as the end date of the season, they’ve extended to July 6th this year and July 11th next year. So good luck with that. The issue with early June is that some parts of the country aren’t out of school yet. I know the northeast in particular goes pretty late.

Yeah our 13s are missing their last 2 days of school to go to GJNC. Any earlier than it is now and it becomes a real problem, especially for high schoolers
