I don't know if anyone addressed this, but haven't both of those things been corrected? The system, although not perfect, has allowed for correction in the past and will hopefully do so again in the future when warranted. Again, I apologize if this has been covered already. One of those two things weren't corrected within the system. Ultimately they were both corrected within the system, through amendments. BTW, the ERA has passed, and was blocked by Trump on some weak procedural grounds, and then by white male Republicans (of course) through filibuster. It should still get through. It would blow up Alito's opinion, which he knows, which makes what the SCOTUS did that much more aggregious. |

The 13th amendment was passed during a civil war where a third of the states weren't represented in Congress and ratified during a literal military occupation of the south. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely a good thing that happened and one of the great American tragedies is the failure of Reconstruction, but the idea the 13th was passed under some sort of regular order just isn't true. |

You were absolutely OK with putting up a giant fence around the United States capital because that ‘out of control’ MAGA crowd could kill people at any time,but …….God forbid we keep peace in any other state capital. This crowd dispersed, while your crowd beat police officers, broke windows and doors and threatened to hang the Vice-President. If that's not "out of control", then no wonder your life is a mess. The crowd dispersed because the police did something before it got crazy correct? It’s a good thing Nancy Pelosi wasn’t in charge of this one or she would’ve allowed this crowd to stampede the Capitol also. But this moment isn’t as politically advantageous now is it? |

But again, a bad system that has, in the past been corrected. The original comment made was about what we then called women, and African Americans not being allowed to vote. Neither of those continue to be the case. Please keep in mind that my comment is not as much about the system being good or bad, as it is that corrections can be made when necessary. I still think that's a good thing. I can see where your eyes are fixed and I'm doubting there's any wiggle room for you on this one. |

I wasnt trying to say that the circumstances were normal or ideal, just that the right steps were taken.
