If the situation in Chicago gets any worse between now and USAV Nationals I have to wonder if teams/clubs will pull out of USAV Nationals. Chicago is a mess right now. Im sure bringing NASCAR in at the same time as GJNC will help…

Someone told me that team has 3 new players this year who moved from Austin to be on that team. Looks like the 4 names mentioned here so far were on the roster last season. Any idea if what I was told is true and which players are new to the team from last year? I hope just driving to Dallas and not that the families actually relocated just for their daughters to play at TAV 😳. If so, wow. People be crazy these days. Stephens relocated last year from Austin, not sure where the Barker’s are living now, they had tried the NT move with their older daughter and they came back to Austin after a year or so. Gentry might be commuting.

Is the Chicago Convention Center near any of the dangerous areas?

Chicago is fine. Honestly. Vegas was/is WAY worse. Our players watched someone get assaulted in our hotel lobby in Vegas and then had a strung out homeless person chase them in Vegas.
Nothing remotely like that happened when we were at WCQ. Chicago is fine. The only thing terrible about the Windy City is the parking situation.

The South Loop area around Millennium park and Michigan ave is where a lot of the hotels are from and where you have to uber from. There are no hotels outside of one close to the convention center so its either uber or ride the train and that was scary. abc7chicago.com/chicago-violence-woman-attacked-in-teenage-riot-beat/13150528/

Our team stayed right downtown off Michigan Ave. and used the metra some for travel. It was so easy to use and took you right into the convention center (would definitely recommend if you're staying downtown). Parking was expensive and a pain going back n forth so we decided to go that route. The kids enjoyed that experience. When I was there, I kept commenting on how clean the city was. I was actually shocked. Tons of restaurant options, things to do.

Yes, in early April I would have agreed with you...things changed in the last two weeks and if that becomes a pattern it will be a big issue. Mobs of people flooded the downtown areas in coordinated waves fighting, shooting and destroying property including cars. Not really an environment you want a bunch of young girls walking around in. As for the train, our group rode it once and had to deal with a drunk or drughead hounding them waiting on the train and then on the train there was random homeless people riding. On top of that, the train drops you off a pretty good walk from the convention center too, its not like you get off and you are there. We did not ride that again. Personally I'd take Vegas

Having been to Chicago and Los Angeles in the last 4 months, I can tell you that Chicago is way better. We saw homeless people defecating in the streets as we walked around.

Personally I'd take Vegas It was a short walk to the station but the Metra drops you right off at McCormick Place. You just walk up the stairs and you're there.
