As a good amount of the upcoming club season talk is appearing on several different threads, I thought I would go ahead and start one to keep the conversations relevant to their respective threads. Finishes at the Open Level for 2022 USAV GJNC's (14's-17's): 17 Open: 1- 1st Alliance 17 Gold (GL) 2- MN Select 17-1 (NO) 3- Club V 17 Ren Reed (IM) 3- COAST 17-1 (SC) 5- AZ REV 17 Premier (AZ) 5- Circle City 17 Purple (HO) 5- MADFROG 17'S N GREEN (NT) 5- Premier Nebraska 17 Gold (GP) 16 Open: 1- MADFROG 16'S N GREEN (NT) 2- A5 Mizuno 16-Gabe (SO) 3- DYNASTY 16 Black (HA) 3- Premier Nebraska 16 Gold (GP) 5- 1st Alliance 16 Gold (GL) 5- CoJrs 16Sherri (RM) 5- NKYVC 16-1 Tsunami (PR) 5- Top Select 16 Elite Blue (FL) 15 Open: 1- Alamo 15 Premier (LS) 2- ARIZONA STORM 15 THUNDER (AZ) 3- Drive Nation 15-Red (NT) 3- TAV 15 Black (NT) 5- 1st Alliance 15 Gold (GL) 5- COAST 15-1 (SC) 5- H Skyline 15 Royal (LS) 5- OT 15 T Randy (FL) 14 Open: 1- Mintonette Sports - m.41 (OV) 2- Flyers 14 APX-Anthony (NT) 3- Elevation 14 Molly (OV) 3- SG Elite 14 Roshambo (SC) 5- Alamo 14 Premier (LS) 5- MADFROG 14'S N GREEN (NT) 5- TAV 14 Black (NT) 5- WAVE 14 Brennan (SC) While we all know that a GJNC placement is not a sure indicator of that team's potential or an indicator of their upcoming club season performance (cough cough Drive Nation, Legacy, A5 in 17 Open), it is good to have as a starting point for evaluating the field for the '22-'23 club season. Over on the 2024 Talent thread, we have already discussed some pretty major shifts coming this season for North Texas teams. For those in other regions, what do your tryout timelines look like? Any idea who's with who yet? Relevant only to the upcoming 18s age group will certainly be early grads. Many high profiles have already announced their plans to forego their last club season to enroll early at their universities. Some coming to mind include Harper Murray (Legacy & Nebraska), Ella Swindle (KC Power & Texas), and Kyndal Stowers (TAV & Baylor). How will these departures affect their teams? New this season also is the split by USAV of the age groups into two separate locations and dates: 11's-13's in Minneapolis June 14-17 14's-17's in Chicago June 28 - July 6This thread is certainly premature but all this talk has me excited! Hope its a successful year for everyone involved!

Very curious to see what 18s looks like next year after all the 2023s make their decisions! I personally don't love the trend of leaving early, but I think it's going to happen more and more.

Some website links have not been updated for the 2023 tournament, but if I linked it then I assumed that's where the information will eventually be located once tournament organizers start to update the information. Unable to find a decent link for Salt Lake Showdown yet. As more AES listings get posted I'll link them also. So what do we think about these for 18s at first glance? Most interesting? Most competitive?

It will be interesting to see how teams pan out. I wonder if some clubs won't have a top 18's team because of departures.

So are we just leaving out the JVA teams?

So are we just leaving out the JVA teams? It is time for the JVA and USAV to get together and figure out how to get all the best clubs at GJNC. AAU Nationals is a great event but it just doesn't have the depth in regards to as many talented teams as GJNC especially at the Open and National levels. There are a lot of really good teams at AAU but certainly not as many. Also there is something to be said for having to qualify for an Open or National Bid as opposed to being able to register for your preferred division.

Always fun to watch.
Not sure what's going to happen but the Swenson sisters are back and once again playing a year up for MN Select 18-1.
Still think the 15-17's are more interesting.
Anyone had a good handle on what's going on with some of the major (or minor) clubs? Like what's happening in TX?

Which is the least competitive region? Out of all the regions or just the ones listed at the top? USAV Region Map
Regions like Alaska and Palmetto aren’t going to have as high of a level of competition but it’s hard to say out of the more populous ones listed above. Regions like Hoosier and Great Plains only have a handful of competitive or recognizable clubs in comparison to Southern California, North Texas, or Lone Star.
