I wonder if qualifiers would be better if you could only join from adjacent states.... Is there a cap on number of teams from a region going to each out of area USAV Qualifier? I know sometimes we see some decent teams playing in USA or American or National divisions at qualifiers? I don't know how qualifiers decide which teams to take in Open, I'm assuming more apply than can be accommodated. I suspect the teams you see playing down are sandbagging so they guarantee a bid.

I see the usual suspects as the top seeds in 18s; Drive Nation, TAV, Skyline, Mad Frog, Excel...
I had been reading that a lot of 18s would choose to graduate early to get a jump on their college careers. I haven't seen it affecting teams at all in SoCal, really. I wonder if that is true in North Texas?

It’s whoever registers first. 48 teams is usually the cap.

Tough to say for sure. Really the only "big" name in NTR I can think of making an early departure is TAV's Kyndal Stowers (Baylor). Drive Nation returns most (minus Bailey Miller, a young 2022 who's at West Virginia) and adds TAV's Sydney Breon (UCLA) and a newcomer from Cali, Alyssa Gonzales (TCU). Both listed as OH's on their posted roster, so will be interesting to see that battle with returner Halle Schroder (Boston College). Ceci Gooch departs for Skyline. TAV lost aforementioned Kyndal Stowers in addition to Kate Hansen (Texas Tech). Breon moved to Drive Nation, Emma Henry moved to Skyline, and I can't find information on Emily Simmons, a pin no longer on a club roster that I have found. They added Erika Gustafson from Instinct (Montana State) and Georgia Stinson, a 2024 setter from Skyline. Also listed on 18 Black's roster is a 2025 OH Audrey Jackson? Can't figure that one out quite yet (interesting that both 2025's Macaria Spears (17 Black) and Audrey Jackson (18 Black) are playing up within TAV organization). TAV's 18 Black Roster Skyline loses Krista Dooley (Rutgers) and Miranda Putnicki (UTSA). Macy Taylor (Providence College) moved to Madfrog (likely to join the multiple PC commits on that roster). They pick up Ceci Gooch from Drive Nation (Georgia) and Emma Henry from TAV (Oklahoma) in addition to picking up Dallas Premier's Angelina Lee (LSU) and Madfrog's Ella Busey (Houston). Skyline 18 Royal Roster
Madfrog also returns most but loses Logan Carr (Western Carolina) and Ella Busey to Skyline. They pick up Macy Taylor (Providence College) and Samaya Wesson from Texas Image (North Carolina A&T). Fun fact: there are FOUR Providence College commits on this Madfrog 18N Green roster. Besides Stowers, I would say that a good amount of talent is sticking around for club season. Impact players choosing to play their 18s season in NTR include: Reese Robins (Drive Nation & Louisville) Leah Ford (Drive Nation & USC) Blaire Bayless (Madfrog & Pitt) Becca Kelley (Skyline & Oregon) Harley Kreck (Skyline & Baylor) Audrey Clark (TAV & Creighton) Kamille Gibson (TAV & Tennessee)

As this will be my DD's last year in club, I am hoping that this thread will catch fire and get the inside scoop as we progress in the Club season. I am really going to miss this 12 year ride we have been on.

Tawa released his HS All American teams(Link volleyballmag.com/2022-vbm-hs-all-americans-123022/ ). I admit I am a bit biased, but not sure how so many Cathedral Catholic High School team members were overlooked given that they were the #1 team in America and went undefeated with just one Set lost (My DD does not play on the team).

There was a huge conglomeration of talent at these two age levels (15s -> 16s & 16s -> 17s) between two clubs: DN and TAV. Before nationals last year, one club pretty much told everyone on the 15s and 16s teams that the slate was cleared and almost everyone had to earn their way back on the team if they wanted to return because they knew a big rush of players was coming. I can speak better about this for the 16s -> 17s but it was a similar dynamic with the younger group. So you had a lot of key kids from other clubs coming to play for Ping - Madfrog, Flyers, TAV, Skyline and it was high impact kids. At TAV, they were largely set and knew that Spears was coming back and plugged a couple of holes very early. So you had this big grouping of a lot of really high impact kids at the top between 2 clubs and it caused a lot of other clubs to scramble WAY early, like before Nationals to fill holes and build their teams/not miss out on the good players that were left to fill the holes. Many clubs were also demanding commitments on the spot and if you didn't answer, you weren't truly committed and they went ahead and filled your spot with the next person. So you had some really good kids that were without a home when the actual tryout window opened and maybe not many great team options left at their age group. So they started looking at best coaches available regardless of age group and trying to fill needs there. Carlos is a great coach for 18s at TAV and they had a few holes to fill and I suspect they didn't want to have a repeat of last year and not field an 18s team so they filled with good players that didn't have a home for various reasons to be sure they had a team and the kids got the benefit of having a great coach for the season. It happened other places besides TAV as well but certainly TAV is one of the more newsworthy examples. It is awesome, the number of high impact 18s girls that did choose to stick around and play their 18s club season. It so great for the youngers to watch and from the ones we know, are doing a great job of not only playing but investing in the younger kids at all the clubs and really doing a great job as leaders in the whole North Texas community.
