Great news to have San Francisco back in the land of the living!
Pacific (1-2) lost in 5 to UTEP Santa Clara (1-1) lost in 5 to Troy Gonzaga (1-2) swept FIU San Diego (2-0) swept TAMU
LMU is currently playing Kansas (not Utah Valley)
SMU SMC took the first set over Boise State, despite only two players hitting positive. Those two (Harrer and Strong) had 6 kills 0 errors each.

It's not like I haven't been writing SMC for a decade or more. Haha. They lost the second set and trail in the third set to Boise State, who badly swept them yesterday. LMU was swept by Kansas after hanging tough: 26-28, 28-30, 12-25. Portland took the first set over Sac State Edit: Now up 2-1 Saint Mary's lost in 4.

Thanks, bayarea, for keeping up on the volleyball. I may have upset people with my opinions, so hopefully I'm still okay being a part of this thread.

Glad you like the pages, and it's good to have you here as always. By the way, I still owe you that popsicle, but I wouldn't count on ever receiving it.

Portland pulled out the win over Sac State with a 26-24 fourth set.
Portland and San Francisco are both out to a hot 3-0 start!

Santa Clara was swept by Georgia, now at 1-2. (They seem to be fine at the pins and lacking an effective middle attack.)
Pepperdine was swept at Nebraska, but with reasonably close sets of 24-26, 19-25, 22-25. The weirdest thing was that Pepp hit .009 for the match and Nebraska only hit .120. Ahrens hit 0. Someone mentioned in the thread that she is nursing an ab injury which is why she has been used very sparingly so far.

Hey WCC fans! I wanted to see if you could help me out with a lineup prediction for Pepperdine in the upcoming tournament they're hosting this weekend. I put together a match thread for it and would like to include a likely lineup for the Waves, from setter all the way through to serving specialist. And here's a link to that tournament thread: #9 Baylor, UCSB, & SDSU at (RV) Pepperdine | Sep 1-3I've sent out this same call for help in the Pepperdine thread but thought I'd cast a wide net. Thanks!

I was only able to follow a little bit of one of their matches last week, and about all I know is that Ahrens is dealing with a stomach tear.

Yes, nectarflow helped out with a Pepperdine lineup in the match thread, so we're covered there.

Saint Mary's at 0-3 is still looking for their first win of the season after losing their home opener 0-3 to Sacramento State. They've still only won one set, in their second match at Boise State. This is very surprising to me. They play at San Jose State today. Pacific won 3-0 yesterday at Chicago State to go to 2-2. They seem to be faring the same as they usually do. They play UIC today and Eastern Illinois on Saturday, both in Chicago. Loyola Marymount drops to 1-3 after losing 0-3 at Nebraska. All the losses are to ranked teams, so it's hard to know where they stand at this point. They have one match left in the Husker Invitational. Hopefully they can get a win today against Mississippi. Portland suffered their first loss of the season at Denver 0-3. Not sure how good Denver is, and it doesn't seem to have been that close of a match, but it's nice to see them at 3-1 on the year. They play Hofstra today and Butler tomorrow in Denver. BYU stays unbeaten for now at 4-0 after an easier-than-expected win over Utah State (-9, -17, -14). They have Cincinnati tonight, then Pittsburgh on Saturday. Gonzaga dropped to 1-3 after a brutal 2-3 loss to Idaho State to start the Gonzaga Invitational yesterday. They had match points in set four at 24-22, but lost 25-27. Then in set five, they led 13-10, but went on to lose 16-18. They play Nevada tonight and finish up their tourney tomorrow against CSUN. Great news about Pepperdine. They defeated Baylor at their own Asics Invitational in Malibu 3-1 yesterday and are now 3-1 on the season. Grace Chillingsworth led the way with 17 kills on 32 attempts, and just 3 errors (.438). Rachel Ahrens was back in her usual role as the most-set player with 40. She only hit .250 (12-2-40), but it's nice to have her back on the court. Meg Brown also had a nice match hitting .381 (10-2-21). That's a super win for the Waves. They have a match against UC Santa Barbara today and finish with San Diego State on Saturday.
San Francisco is undefeated at 3-0. Yippee! They are currently in a tight first set versus Louisiana Tech in the Fresno State tournament. They play Seattle later today and Fresno State tomorrow. UPDATE: USF took the first set, 27-25.
Santa Clara is 1-2. They are playing in the Grand Canyon tournament starting today. They face Wyoming today, Idaho tomorrow, then Grand Canyon on Sunday for the last WCC match of the week.
San Diego is currently 3-0 and also undefeated after winning all three matches at the Texas A&M Invitational last week. They continue their difficult non-conference schedule tonight at Louisville in the Cardinal Classic. Tomorrow they get Ohio State. Eager to see how far they can go with better setting finally.

San Francisco is still undefeated at 4-0 after sweeping Louisiana Tech in tight sets.
Pacific (2-3) lost in four to UIC.
Portland (3-1) is up 2-1 vs Hofstra at the moment.
LMU took the first set over Ole Miss 25-19. Kudos to them.
Santa Clara just starting vs Wyoming (4:30pm PT)
San Diego dropped the first set 18-25 to a hot Louisville team.
