Santa Clara took set one 25-20 over Portland despite a late run by the Pilots. SCU had 0 aces, 6 SE's, 3 serve receive errors. In one set. But they hit .407 to Portland's 0. It's also senior day for Portland.
A much tighter 3rd set for San Diego, but they are up 23-20 on their way to a sweep at Pacific. Still, Edwards is the only Torero having success on offense on senior day. Pacific will finish with a negative hitting percentage. San Diego finished with 18 blocks (Blackwell with 11)
Final score 3-0 with USD winning -18, -12, -20

If San Francisco wins at least one of their 2 matches next week, they finish their season with a winning record for the 1st time since 2015!!!

Santa Clara takes set three 25-15 to lead Portland 2-1. Looks like SCU cleaned up their serve/pass game.
Set four is tied at 18...20-18 SCU after a 4-0 run.
Portland takes the fourth set 26-24. Going 5.

Tied at 13 in the 5th set between Santa Clara and Portland. Santa Clara with match point now, 14-13
...and they get it, 15-13, to win the match 3-2
Not sure what happened, but something was going on early in the set and it took a long time to get it figured out. Portland had a 9-3 lead at one point and couldn't hold on.

Santa Clara came back from down 3-9 in the fifth to win it 15-13 on Portland's senior night.
Jayde Harris had 25 kills at .362. Portland lists her as a 4th year junior on the roster, so I expect she will return for them next year. I didn't hear who was celebrated for their senior night. Larsson and Bradley each had 10 kills.
For SCU, Sangiacomo had 17 kills (.244), Truitt 16 kills (.195), Tulino 12 (.400), Okammor 11 (.381)
SCU hit .264 with 14 blocks and Portland hit .180 with 12 blocks. After not being able to get a serve in during set one, SCU steadied out and ultimately did better at the serve/pass game than Portland.

They are crediting Blackwell with 14 ASSISTS....oops.
Congrats to both players.
It's surprising to me, looking at the list, that Erin Livingston hasn't gotten POW this season. She carries BYU through most matches, putting up excellent numbers each week, but apparently someone else has a slightly better week each time.

Good thing Blackwell is the defensive player of the week, so it doesn't matter. I noticed the same thing about BYU, no offensive players of the week. I did think Erin Livingston would get one, but alas it didn't happen, as others had great performances the same weeks she did. It took Sangiacomo until the last week of the season to win one, which is also different from recent years. Hopefully that's a good sign for the conference as a whole.
