Congrats to San Diego on winning the WCC. Can they stay unbeaten and possibly earn a regional seed? I'd like to see them do it, but I'd also like to see BYU win next Tuesday. At the very least I'd like it to be a very competitive match unlike the first one. BYU didn't even seem like they had a chance in that one.

No. The only information I've heard is that the Pepperdine commentator said she warmed up before Thursday's match and seemed a bit puzzled that she didn't play. The way he said it made me wonder if he knew she had been injured or if he just thought she looked good enough to be back in the lineup. hmm maybe it's one of those things where she's still not 100% but they'll use her if they absolutely have to. like if taylor's doing a good job then they'd rather rest bower at this point Having Bower healthy for the tournament has to be the priority. I don't think she'll play on Tuesday unless she's 100% healthy.

Also, that unheralded Abby Taylor transfer turned out to be extremely important.

In fact, I think the last 2 losses BYU had (Pacific and USD) were both run by an injured Bower. Taylor replaced Bower in the game after the USD loss. Pacific forfeited so we don't get to compare Bower and Taylor against them, but we'll see if a healthy Abby Taylor can make any difference against USD.

If Bower isn't 100% healthy, I don't think it's worth playing her in a match that isn't likely to matter that much for BYU either way. It's not like they'll really get penalized for losing, and I could be wrong, but I don't think a win would be that much of a difference maker. The important matches for BYU to win were the ones they played this week against Pepperdine and LMU on the road.

I wouldn't mind having Taylor set the rest of the season for BYU. I find Bower extremely predictable after four seasons. I'm enjoying the new look at setter. Don't know if she'll be successful against San Diego, but I'd like to see her get the chance.

If Bower is 100% healthy, she should definitely be the setter in the tournament. Don't get me wrong. Taylor has been very important stepping in while Bower was injured. But there's no doubt that when Bower is healthy, she's the better player.

I'll be happy to have Bower back, but I've enjoyed the change and realize how ready I am to see a different setter at BYU.

It looks like Pepperdine took care of Portland 3-0 with sets of -10, -16, -22. So hopefully they are going full-strength into the postseason.
LMU took the first set at Gonzaga 25-14 and tied at 7 in the second set. Edit: Gonzaga is up 10-7
Santa Clara took the first two sets at Saint Mary's, but Saint Mary's will take the third set.
San Diego and BYU have split the first two sets.
Pacific leads San Francisco 2-0 and leads 8-4 in the third st.

Pacific completed the sweep of San Francisco -23, -19, -12. USF certainly ended their season with a whimper, after having a good run for part of the year. I'm not sure what happened.
Santa Clara won 3-1 at Saint Mary's with scores of 25-22, 25-18, 16-25, 25-12. Sangiacomo led SCU with 13 kills at .458. Another day at the office...

LMU has gone 25-14, 19-25, 25-19, and up 20-9 in the fourth vs Gonzaga, so we will assume they are winning 3-1. I hope they make the tournament!
Rose Booth is having a career night with 21 kills at .529 for LMU

USF just misses out on having a winning season, ending their season at 14-15.
Considering the fact that they went 0-25 last year, I'd say this season was a huge improvement. Idk who they have coming in next season, but they should try and hit the transfer portal again.
