That pic of Faith Deronde in the Iowa State score looks like it could be on the cover of a magazine.

The crowd for that ESPN match on Sunday is going to be AMPED up!
Texas is often the big match for opposing fans, but it means a little more for Texas Tech these days, even more than other schools. To paraphrase the famous saying, “it’s not business. It’s personal.”
If Tech has any kind of early success the roof may come off.

Tech had less than 2,000 fans at both of their matches last year against Texas. They also haven’t had more than 750 fans at a home match this season. I’m not sure Lubbock is exactly going crazy over volleyball.

According to the latest Pablo - Here are the tiers in the B12:
Tier 1: Texas (almost a virtual lock to be a regional seed) Tier 2: Baylor and Kansas (fighting for a seed, almost a lock to make the tournament) Tier 3: Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech (fighting to make the tournament) Tier 4: Iowa State and TCU Tier 5: West Virginia
Compared to last year - Kansas State and Texas Tech are about the same. Oklahoma is getting better and maybe TCU is getting a bit better. Iowa State is much worse and West Virginia is very much worse. Baylor probably a bit worse and Kansas a bit better. Overall, the conference is clearly down compared to last year - not nearly as deep.

Oklahoma is a solid team and super young
would love for them to get the experience of making the tournament

Oklahoma is a solid team and super young would love for them to get the experience of making the tournament I was impressed with them against Texas. I’d rather KU and Baylor host, though, than have more teams make the tournament. I feel like one comes at the expense of the other barring an upset of Texas somewhere along the way, which I’m definitely not rooting for.

Because of houstonbear15 ‘s post I now acknowledge Kansas and Baylor play at 12pm on Saturday. To me that’s the most compelling matchup in the Big 12 ‘this year, and I’m excited to see how it goes. It’s going to be streamed on ESPN+. I may have to pull away from college football to watch.

I would estimate that Baylor can afford 4 more losses and be a seed. A 5th loss would make things difficult. It also would be interesting to see if the committee would have 3 schools from Texas be a seed (I assume the answer is yes)?
Baylor is an underdog in 4 of their remaining games - but @ Rice and @ Kansas is a very small underdog (essentially pickem matches. And of course heavy underdogs in their two matches against Texas.
Pablo odds this week
Baylor 80% chance over Iowa State Kansas 58% chance over Oklahoma Texas Tech 58% chance over Kansas State
TCU 70% chance over West Virginia
Kansas 53% chance over Baylor Oklahoma 87% chance over West Virginia
Kansas State 71% chance over Iowa State Texas 89% chance over Texas Tech

On another thread - I pegged Baylor with ~ 25% chance of being a seed (along with Kansas).
The B12 has about a 50% chance of getting 2 seeds.
