I consider myself a "fan" of Nebraska, OSU, Florida in the sense that I always root for those teams if they're not playing the 3 teams I consider myself a legit fan of. (Kentucky, Louisville, Stanford). I like to see the programs do well but don't feel personally invested in how they're doing. It doesn't make a lot of sense but it does to me lol. only teams I never root for are penn state, Texas, and Pitt. there's no specific reason for my like and dislike of certain teams (besides my top 3). when I started watching and throughout the year I kind of just decided "these are who I like and don't like it" and have stuck with it I hope you don't feel I need an explanation, although I enjoyed it. I develop rooting interests in teams for all kinds of reasons. It's better than gambling, which I don't have any interest in. Mostly I find reasons to hate specific coaches or programs, and then get excited when bad things happen to them. But that's because I'm a bit of a jerk, whereas you're much closer to the nice guy spectrum of things. Less true in volleyball than other sports. College men's basketball and college football being the big ones. And speaking of being a bit of a jerk, I just like giving you a bit of a ribbing. Nothing meant by it. I looked at stats from the 2021 match between the Gators and Card, but admittedly Florida's lineup has changed so much they probably don't give many clues as to what happens tonight.
A couple things jump out, and one is that Francis did not play with Berty taking her place. Berty actually had 10 kills (.265), so not bad, but I think she was hitting against the Gator's relatively short setter Monserez. Stuckey should be more of an obstacle for Rubin in tonight's match. I suspect Baird will be hitting against the Beason block most of the time.
Kipp probably had her poorest match of the season, only hitting .092 with 9 kills. Baird, OTOH, recorded 20 kills at about .250. Stanford got 16 kills from their middles, Campbell and Vicini, which was definitely above their season averages.
Florida's offense was pretty equally spread out between Hall, Caesar, Beason, and Forte. Forte hit .412 with 9 kills, Caesar and Beason were around .250, and Hall was at .167.
Monserez had 21 digs, even more than McKissock's 16. Oglivie had 18 digs for the Card, and no one else had above 9.
Both teams hit right around .250 for the match.

Art, from accounts I heard in-house, was a great guy. He coached the MWP team to its first NCAA Championship in 1976....before Dettamanti took over for his title runs. Art was a coaching Swiss Army Knife. |

Hopefully our block can continue to become more discipled. Too many mental miscues in the last few matches regarding leaving the opposing right side without a blocker up.
