Husky blocking seems less than optimal.

Gotta respect that play - bringing the smaller OH (Gillen) into the middle - worked really well twice so far

If Hoffman isn’t having a good match it’s going to be tough to beat high quality teams, which Arkansas is.

passing with 2 man for 3 rotations is a lot if you want her to produce offensively as well

UW trying to pull back from well behind (17-22 to 21-23). Still a ways to go - come on 'heart attack' Huskies

OH (incl. RS) difference - 0.343 vs 0.156 That will do it. Great digging and hitting by Arkansas

Big congratulations to Arkansas -- you look like the real deal. In fact, I can't think of a single phase of the game where the Huskies outplayed the Razorbacks.
Cook and Co. have their work cut out for tomorrow's rematch, as this win was not a fluke. As a Husky fan, there were multiple areas of disappointment. The usual UW strengths -- serving and blocking -- simply were not there. Arkansas won those areas handily. The starkest difference that I saw was the play of the outside hitters. UW's middles had decent offensive games but not enough opportunities. The outsides, however, were simply bad. Endsley was the most effective and hit .206. Bush has a ways to go before she can replace Drechsel's firepower. Most disappointing was Hoffman, who hit .128, had no blocks, and whose serve was easily handled by Arkansas. I fully expect Claire to have a much better game tomorrow.
Another area where UW really needs to improve tomorrow is defense, both at the net and on the floor. Bays was not her usual difference maker and, unlike Arkansas, the Huskies looked slow and out of sorts on defense. I was expecting much better defense since Cook has said this is an area the team is working hard to improve. Let's see what UW brings tomorrow.
