Why can't we stop a 5'7 OH? Lots of teams ask this, to be fair. She played very well tonight.

Why can't we stop a 5'7 OH? Because she (Gillen) is damn good. Best hitter on the floor tonight.

Arkansas should have been in the tourney last year (I’ll take that to my grave) and with most of the team returning and this statement victory against the projected Pac 12 champ they damn well better be in this year.
Tomorrow is anyone’s game but this has to feel good for the hogs, especially after 3 five set losses to top teams last year (Kentucky x2 and Florida).
Awesome to have Powell play in front of her home crowd too; it almost makes me want Washington to win tomorrow… almost.

Nice win for 2 former Pac12 coaches in Watson and Gardner!

just fyi, UW has had 1 loss in the first weekend in the last four years I don't mean to troll you but is it because they really haven't played anyone of substance to start the season? Maybe it's gotten better in the Keegan Cook era but I know McLaughlin didn't schedule anyone tough. So it's a loss. Big deal.

I will say, dammit, Washington did play Wisconsin home and away in the fourth weekend of 2019, and they shredded the Badgers, including Hoffman, in two wins. The Badgers recovered from that to play for the national title eventually, after winning the B1G, so there is Washington non conference success against a good team relatively recently. The Badgers went 18-2 in the league that year, suffering an upset 4 set loss at Ohio State and a 5 set loss at Penn State after they dominated the first two sets.

My own interpretation is that UW is a team that heavily rely on their system and scouting. In the first week of the season, they havent ironed out their system and there's very little for scouting. This coaching staff (or Keegan) doesnt seem to be very good at turn things around mid-match either.

Nice win for 2 former Pac12 coaches in Watson and Gardner! Always kinda questioned Watson's decision to leave ASU and the PAC. In retrospect, probably a good call on his part. Maybe his Arkansas turnaround is about to really happen.

Lots of teams ask this, to be fair. She played very well tonight. She has ups. Lol Yeah, there are things that are more important than pure height, like how high you can jump, how accurate you are, and how intelligent your shot selection is.

You can really sense the frustration in Cook's comments. Ultimately, the Huskies did not look ready for this match and Cook and Co. have to take the blame for that. The coaching staff can get the players ready to bounce back but it's a quick turnaround and given how thoroughly outplayed they were, it won't be easy.

Arkansas played very well. UW needs to serve, receive, hit, and block better.

It’s a disappointing loss! Also disappointing is the way the PAC stumbled out of the gate in general!
