You can really sense the frustration in Cook's comments. Ultimately, the Huskies did not look ready for this match and Cook and Co. have to take the blame for that. The coaching staff can get the players ready to bounce back but it's a quick turnaround and given how thoroughly outplayed they were, it won't be easy. Remember the first two matches against ASU? The fans were devastated when we lost to ASU and I remember seeing similar comment. I am sure UW will play better today, but will it be enough to win against Arkansas at their home court?

Did Arkansas run a 6-2 last season or was this something new that the Huskies didn't expect?

I do remember the ASU match and the bad feeling that went with it. If your point is that it is very early in the season, lots of time for adjustments and figuring out what this team is really about, and way too early to panic, I couldn't agree more.

Biggest win ever for Arkansas? Maybe in the regular season. Arkansas went to the Sweet 16 in 1998 (and they were a 3 seed in their region--equivalent of an 9-12 national seed). Edit: It looks like they beat No. 4 Florida in the SEC Tournament in 1997. That's probably it, as that Florida team went to the Final Four. They also beat a Florida team that was ranked No. 5 in the regular season in 2007, but that Gators team was only a 13 seed in the tournament. And another win over Florida in 2015 when the Gators were ranked No. 9 and eventually went on to be the 11 seed and made a run to the Elite 8.

Did Arkansas run a 6-2 last season or was this something new that the Huskies didn't expect? They ran it once or twice (vs. Kentucky, notably) last year, but this version looks about 100% better. Hogue is more ready to play, and Cartwright and Dirrigl are clearly more prepared for it.

Also, remember how they finished that year?

Also, remember how they finished that year? Oh yes, and that's why a little perspective is useful right now.

One thing the announcer said yesterday was that this was originally supposed to be a tourney, but that, when they heard that Washington was coming, the other two schools pulled out.

Nice to see Hoffman get some early good swings. She has to have a great game otherwise dawgs will be in a world of hurt. Yesterdays .128 and 10 kills ain't gonna cut it.

Arkansas is a good team. I have them ranked in my preseason top 25 ballot. You can't expect to win against good opponents on their home floor when your primary hitting option isn't ready to go.
