I like the 6-2. We hit .330. Obviously some stuff to workout but Ole Miss isn't some terrible team, they had close chances to take out Georgia Tech. The level of this team will skyrocket if/when we get Hord going. That's priority numero 1 for me right now. They got swept by LMU and that Georgia Tech match was hot garbage. Fun hot garbage because of Bergmann, but still hot garbage. That said, Nebraska constantly looks in taking care of business mode. I haven't seen a team look as in control of each set as the Huskers. I look forward to seeing them against the rest of their schedule. Minnesota in particular looks like a potential challenge to me.

It's been tough watching Orr struggle like she has. She's clearly got a mental block of some sort going on. Are we letting her set her game or are we trying to force her into our offense? We don't usually recruit the type of setters like Orr--which is why we it was crazy we went after her, even with her accolades. A 6-2 with Hames and Orr--both set different types of balls, I worry that will be tougher down the road against better opponents, but maybe not.

Traditionally you don’t ask a group to adapt to a single player.

i said right now Hear that over-rated stuff every year.... I know. Don't disagree, but this has been the case now for several years: NE has seemed over-rated at this point in the season and even during the B1G season. An incredible run of consistently over-rated and consistently over-achieving teams year-after-year-after-year. That's NE WVB. GBR! GO Red Kingdom Huskers!

I’m rooting for Orr because she’s a Minnesota girl but she is riding the struggle bus right now… she’s not getting her feet set and squared up and she’s doubling quite a bit. They called it during the Ole Miss match but it was the same in previous matches just not called - I’ll admit, I prefer a match tightly called with doubles, lifts, throws etc, prepare them for international/pro ball - Maybe it’s learning a new system or technique? Maybe mental? I don’t know but right now it’s definitely the Hames/Evans duo for me.

I am less sold on the 6-2 after last night. I didn’t think the flow was near as sharp. We are not utilizing Hord and I am sure we will make adjustments so she can be much more involved in the offense . Whitney? Oh my gosh is she going to be something special. Kubik was outstanding. I do feel really bad for Kennedi. She needs to play through these kinks in her game but yet in the ‘big’, you can’t afford to sacrifice a few games. It’s a tough spot to be in. Hames, she’s not the most beautiful setter but man can she play defense, and she’s great at running a tempo. She also knows how to win and gets the job done when it counts.

What type of setter would you say Orr is and why were you surprised? I feel like I’m addition to set placement, choice, etc, what I am noticing about elite level club setters is their ability to set the rhythm. It it has to be dependable in speed and their body has to almost be melodic. Idk if this makes sense.
