She certainly surprised many. Hoping she can string along some consistent good/decent matches together.

I can see Alexander moving to the OH1 position and Riley to the OH2. Riley had the chance, and it didn't pan out. Alexander will be hitting against a different blocking combination, and I hope she comes through. Riley is too valuable as an all-around asset compared to whomever Coach Ahmow has next in line. Alexander already is the OH1…. Totally my bad. Maybe we should have had them switch, is what I should have said.

This game was really exciting in person. I could see a couple rallies being in the top NCAA plays this week. I’m excited for Alexander! Yessaaaah! 🤙🏽 I think I made it on the live… Beer in the hand.. green shirt… ripped shorts.

Yea tbh I would like that, but I think right now the rotation focus is just making sure Amber starts off 3 rotations in the front row. Tbh it’s pretty maddening how ineffective Riley is offensively when we need her the most

People need to remember this is the 1st year, under Robyn Ah Mow, that all her players are her's. I believe there are only 11 players, on this Wahine team, that are on scholarship. That means, Robyn will have 2 scholarships available next hear. Maybe, 3 scholarships, depending on what Anna Kiraly decides to do, concerning her medical condition.
Players like Riley Wagoner, Braelyn Akana, even Kate Lang, this is the year they have to show that they deserve to be a Starter, next year. They cannot wait till next year to prove that they should start, that is to late. Robyn needs to bring in an Outside Hitter/Opposite, and a Middle.
Right now from what I have seen, there are only 4 Wahine players who have locked up a Starting spot on Next Year's team, Amber Igiede, Tiffany Westerberg (Middle or Opposite), Caylen Alexander, and Tayli Ikenaga. Everyone else needs to still prove they deserve to be in the Starting Lineup next year, that include Riley Wagoner, and even Kate Lang.

Tali Hakas will start over Riley Wagoner next year when she comes in. But we can use Wagoner for defensive/passing purposes if she is to focus solely on those two aspects as well.

The only problem with Riley Wagoner, and you can see it in her body language, is when her hitting goes South so does her receiving and defense. Putting Riley at OH2, will allow her to not get so many hitting attempts to not get her down about. Which in turn will help her be steady at Receiving and floor defense.

Wahine need better guns 💪 Unfortunately they’re not gonna choose Hawaii. Case in point Leo and Mia left.

Can afford him? He’s making quite a name for himself at the most famous program in the country that I’m sure he wants to inherit As long as Dave Matlin is our AD, he is not going to hire a man to coach women. If Robyn was to move on, Matlin will insist that UH find another women. He said that himself. He is a big equal opportunity guy.

Hoping we get to keep Amber all the way… Is amber indicating she is leaving? Or are we drumming up potential rumors and we are not even half way through the season yet? Smfh Amber is uber loyal to coach Rob and the Wahine program and will finish her collegiate career here. Hawaii gave her a chance and she has flourished. Hell, coach Rob let her start her very first match her frosh year and the rest is history. The same Amber Igeide people on this very board years ago questioned because they said she had terrible footwork and that she was slow. And those same folks had her as low as 3rd on the middle depth chart. So again, unless we have verified evidence that she plans to leave....she isn't and she absolutely loves it out here and loves the program.

All this talk about replacing Robyn is flat out stupid. She isn’t going anywhere. Has Hawaii missed the tournament? This is a talent issue, straight up. Robyn has done well with the talent she has to work with. They had UCLA on the ropes until Ikenaga served the ball into the net at 23, which killed all of Hawaii’s momentum and put extra pressure on Hawaii’s passers, and they were already struggling through much of the match. They only neeeed 2 points and that blew it for them, and I called it at the match. Hawaii doesn’t have multiple great players like in years past, they have one great player and as a middle, she is neutralized by bad passing and inconsistent setting. Alexander is young but she’ll be great. Braelyn played well so that’s a positive but this team needs a lot of work and the passing has to improve or this will be a long season.
