I don't know that I'd say that. They don't have any exploitable weaknesses so far, though. Minnesota gave them all they could handle for the most part. On a neutral court or in Minnesota, maybe they take another set to send it to 5. More importantly, I don't think they have any more teams on their schedule who can successfully exploit whatever weaknesses they have to take 3 sets. So we'll have to see how they do come tournament time, when other teams have been better tested in the meantime.

Great start: and now the work of making everyone on the team and everyones role seem important. They start the season with a schedule that looks like the NCAA tourney and then regress to there big 12 schedule: complacency and inner lack of motivation from the non starters: as with all great teams often the biggest challenge is from within. Someone mentioned earlier about Elliot talking about a player needing to practice with more enthusiasm: well it soon will be more than one second line player practicing without enthusiasm: when your role seems established without hope for improvement can you go to practice with “Rudy’s” enthusiasm? Human nature not exceptionalism seems to creep in! Add to that lesser quality opponents and the team can loose its edge! Here will be the coaching staffs challenge going forward keeping a team ready for the championship’s in December who it appears is ready now! Peak chill and re-peak! Wishing them success at the end!

Of their remaining schedule, the four matches with Baylor and Kansas, are the only ones I remotely see giving them any challenge. But with that said, their back row play is so good that the probability of an unexpected upset is extremely low.

After two sets, Texas is the leader in the clubhouse on first touches. Without a doubt, ignore aces and errors as the only barometer. Everything else flows and much more in system. The Longhorns are very well balanced and experienced practically at every position. The backcourt is the biggest improvement with Fleck and the quick, darting Halter. Throw in Akana as a quality server and ds. Good setting. High quality, depth and experience at the pins and middle blockers. The transfer portal has been a difference-maker here. They are hungry to in large part losing at home in the regional finals last year. It added fuel for this year and the Longhorns will be a load for any team. They apply constant pressure to play at their level. I hope both Nebraska and Texas meet in the final four. I don't care how well Texas does, up to and including winning the national championship. If Texas doesn't manage to meet Nebraska along the way there will always be a part of me that will be disappointed.Having to beat Nebraska in Omaha in front of 18,000 Husker fans would be the ultimate test. Other than COVID Spring 2021 season, and 2008, Nebraska has won the title each time Omaha hosted the Final Four. Won't bother me if we don't face them in the post-season. Honestly, if Nebraska makes it to this year's Final Four, they are the favorites.

The important thing is to beat the post-season opponents you draw; that's all this team can control.

None are on Texas’s level with talent but all should make the tournament and your not just going to go through warmups and expect them to capitulate. That’s 8 games right there. For Texas its can you keep getting better every week. The competitor in the practice gym should help keep them sharp and I trust Logan to not let this team get complacent. There are lots of talented teams out there.

The important thing is to beat the post-season opponents you draw; that's all this team can control. You're getting a touch pedantic. We have different priorities. Your priority is simply winning the national championship. Which is mine, too. But I'm placing more importance on going through Nebraska to get there than you. That's all it is. We don't have to agree, or have the same priorities on this. We can still both be fans of the team. I don't care that the teams are different. I care about the red N on their jerseys. I love playing Nebraska in the post season. It means a little more for me. And it will mean more than it usually does this season.

We beat them in 2016, they beat us in 2015. I guess if we don't beat them in the 2022 post-season and it leaves you feeling a bit empty, you'll find solace somewhere else.

I'm sure I will. I can hardly wait to have this conversation again, as I talk about how excited I am to potentially face Nebraska in the post season (because I will talk about it again), and you regale me with all the reasons why it shouldn't be important to me, or how I'll somehow get over it if it doesn't happen.
