The Gophers played about as bad as they could against Florida and still managed a 3-1 win. I feel confident they’ll bounce back - and if they play like themselves I don’t see why Stanford is much more difficult than Florida. But who knows, anything can happen. You do know that Stanford beat Florida on the road despite giving away an entire game's worth of points in service errors? As I said, anything is possible. Personally I don’t think the match against Stanford will be closer than our match against Florida - that’s all I’m saying. Anything can happen and Stanford could very well sweep us. Volleyball is like that!

I think Stanford could be a handful. They could be fired up after getting pounded by Texas and they have some fire power. Whether or not they have enough to defense to defeat the Gophers, we will find out.
I'm not thinking this weekend will be a cake walk, should be some competitive matches.

Alright, what does everyone think? I’m definitely excited to see Penn State play. Assuming MN can keep their serves in, I don’t think Stanford will be too much of a challenge. I haven’t seen Oregon play yet so not sure on that one. Looking forward to heading down tonight to hopefully catch most of the Stanford v. Penn State match. Not sure who to pull for in that, but I suppose the B1G team. Will be strange not seeing RR on the bench. Stanford looked solid against Florida and they have a strong hitters in Kipp, Baird and Francis and an elite setter. Should be a good match for both the Nittany Lions and Gophers. Would like to see the Gophers push their winning streak over the Cardinal to 3. Also interested to see how Oregon looks tonight.

I was just back in Minneapolis for by birthday in early August with a friend who had never been there. I'm from Minnesota (not Minneapolis) and have family all around MSP metro. Had a lot of fun. I've been back many times over the years (I moved away in 1991) but didn't realize how I really haven't done a "deep dive" in Minneapolis proper in a long time - other than hanging out in Northeast a few years ago and seeing how far that has come over the decades.
Anyway, I was showing my friend downtown and just driving around and I tried to take him over the Washington Ave bridge to The U because I wanted him to see Northrop auditorium and the main "quad" at The U. I always liked how it was essentially like any other big land grant university but right in the middle of a city. I was disappointed that you can't really get that view driving by anymore since the light rail runs right in front and you can't drive past it. We did go park and walk around which is probably better anyway, but I was still surprised - which is probably ridiculous to many of you since I'm assuming the light rail has been there for a pretty long time now.

Stanford's passing and transition ball control needs major work. The Gophers should be a solid favorite. I'd say a 3-0 sweep is likely or 3-1 if the Card has a set where their passing and control is above normal and Minny's is less than normal.

I feel like Oregon has a lot of really nice pieces and is likely quite improved from last year but I don’t feel like they have really gelled yet, still adjusting to new setter/hitters. I think upsetting Minny is unlikely at this point in the season. I am more hopeful against Penn state but we shall see…

The Green Line went into service in 2014. Really?!?!? Time flies. If you’d asked me, I would have guessed 2-3 years ago, and then added 1-2 more because of the lost Covid years.

Can someone please help me figure out how to watch the games? I downloaded the big10 app and paid for all of the big10 volleyball for the season and haven’t been able to watch one yet. Do I only get conference games?

Do I only get conference games? I’m assuming you subscribed to B1G+? Tonight’s matches are on BTN (Big Ten Network), so you will need a cable package that includes BTN to watch Stanford v. PSU and Oregon @ Minnesota. Or wait until tomorrow when tonight’s matches are uploaded to B1G+. Tomorrow you can stream Oregon v. PSU and Stanford @ Minnesota live on B1G+.

Two HEs right off the bat from the Card on two nice passes -- ugh!
