So is the narrative on VT still that Tech is dreck? In my defense go back and watch their match against Ole Miss they looked bad. Could have been first weekend out jitters but tonight they looked great. I’ll be interested to see how they fare against OSU if they can win convincingly there I will be a believe in Tech. The offense floor defense and serving was really clicking for them. |

So is the narrative on VT still that Tech is dreck? Not dreck, but they're basically a one woman team for the most part. If you took the best player off of Georgia Tech and whatever opponent they're facing, they'd only have a couple of wins right now. And I do feel like that's the worst BYU has played this year. The scoreboard matters. I'm not saying it doesn't. Georgia Tech dominated BYU in this match for sure, and BYU is without a doubt a quality team. But I still firmly believe Georgia Tech looks like the 3rd best team in the ACC, for example. I'll say this. Ohio State's big problem is their OHes. That's not going to be as much of an issue versus Georgia Tech. And going up against blocks from Londot and Podraza will be a little different than Bower out there futilely attempting to cover line shots. Not that Bergmann can't overcome. Holy moly she's on a different level. Just that the challenge will be greater than what she's faced. Ohio State has NO shot at shutting Bergmann down. But they need to be able to slow her down some. At least make her work for her points a little more. I do think they could conceivably do that. And they have some weapons on their side. Beware the moonball, Yellow Jackets. Beware the moonball! |

Who is the lady color commentator. She's...excitable. Not complaining. I'm here for it. But she has the energy, that's for sure. Kele Eveland was 1st Team All American setter for Georgia Tech in 2003. |

Kele Eveland was 1st Team All American setter for Georgia Tech in 2003. Thank you. I appreciate having a name. I hope to hear her more. She made the match more exciting for me. Cooled down a bit at the end, probably due to the one sided nature of it all. Warren Zevon would have wrote a song for her. "Excitable Girl they all said." |

I just tuned in at start of set 2, and I have two observations: 1. Bergmann is freakin' incredible! Just wow. 2. I've seen middle schools with nicer gyms than this cracker box at Georgia Tech. 1. Yes, she is. 2. GT gym is one of the best home court advantages in the country. Small, loud (the band is amazing) and hot. Awesome place to see a match. |
