Georgia Tech looked calm and came ready to play…Bergman is spectacular, no doubt about it. The rest of the team played great tonight - nothing hit the floor, serving amazing, passing on point. Maybe people will stop talking trash about them based on the first set of the year (ended up beating a good Ole Miss team 3-1). POINT TECH!

Awesome place to see a match. "O’Keefe Gymnasium was used by O’Keefe High School during the 1950’s and was given to Tech in the 1960’s. It has hosted Tech’s volleyball team since 1995. The gym is able to hold around 1,000 people." There's a very good reason it closely resembles a high school gymnasium.

Scheduling tough to get some big match experience. Have to respect a team that turned around a 1 win season in 2020 to make NCAA in 2021.

Scheduling tough to get some big match experience. Have to respect a team that turned around a 1 win season in 2020 to make NCAA in 2021. So we're going to just brush over Loyola Marymount, then. And yes, I do respect Ole Miss and what Banwarth has done there. But that's not the point. Using the defeat of Ole Miss to buttress anything at this point of the season doesn't have much credibility. They don't look good, they haven't looked good. Winning that match meant nothing in terms of any kind of credibility boost. BYU does, though, that's for sure. Especially the way it was done. And so will a win over OSU. Georgia Tech is going to have plenty of opportunities to make their case this year.

I know I'm way late to the party, but Bergmann is a one-woman wrecking ball, and I can certainly see why she was ACC POY last year.
So is she already a starter for Brazil's senior national team? She is going to be a terror.

I'm trying to remember the last time that a starter for an internationally elite (medal-contending) foreign national team was still playing collegiate ball in the US.

I'm curious to hear why you call GT overrated? Is it just because they are not one of the traditional powers? Or do you see some flaws in their game/lineup? They were could enough to sweep OSU last year and they have a deeper team this year than last year including one of the best players in the nation. Because they lost their setter and 1st team AA opposite and the replacements for both arent nearly as good lol? I dont think they were overrated last year. They were great. This year however, I am not at ALL convinced they are top 5 in the nation. I think they are closer to 12-15 range. Curious if you have seen them play or just basing your opinion on conjecture? They replaced their 5'10" setter with a 6'1" setter. They replaced their all American outside hitter with a third team all american/conference player of the year in Otene. With the exception of one of the two middles they play all the rest of the hitters are 6 rotation players. And their top returning player Bergman spent the summer playing on the Brazilian national team and may be the best player in the nation. Every team in the top 10 lost players from last year. The good teams develop talent to replace them. Ask BYU if they think GT is a top ten team. Looking forward to the Ohio State matchup Sunday. Should be a good one.

Should be a good one. if you’re argument is to try and convince me that this gt team is better than last years you’re not going to. Otene is nowhere near what Brambilla was. I was def a bit harsh on GT but my reasons for being skeptical were valid and you’re not going to convince me otherwise. They def proved me a bit wrong today though
