Mostly terrible in Sets 1-3, Franklin heated up in the 4th and cooled off in the 5th missing a real crucial kill attempt. In hindsight I believe the Badgers would have been better off subbing Demps in for Franklin and letting her go 6 rotations. Especially in crunch time 8-8 in the 5th. She would have been especially valuable in the backrow. Huh?? Franklin literally had ZERO kills in the 4th, she played very little of that set. She did however have four kills in the 5th set. Typo, I should have said the 5th set but that was in the early part of the set. She disappeared down the stretch while Demps usually thrives in crunch time.

So will Wisconsin get Bramschreiber or no? In 8 more matches. Is it a penalty thing?

Franklin's four kills in the 5th set came with score at 1-1, 3-2 Wisconsin, 11-10 Florida, and 14-12 Florida. They write this stuff down. You can look it up. ----------------- Adding, she also had no errors in the 5th. So I don't know what "missing a crucial attempt" refers to.

She apparently hired an agent to advise her on her prospects of playing professionally in Europe, etc. She then decided to return for her bonus COVID year. But the NCAA didn't like the 'agent' part of it, and so punished her by making her ineligible for the first half of the season.

Jade is not nearly as erratic and would have solidified the back row. We had a few lapses in the 5th set. We are a few games from regular season we have several players regressing. Put your most consistant players in in crunchtime when prudent. We are not doing that.

No offense to GG, but her passing would have been key this match

So.. was the Kohl Center a success? I dunno. I am going with yes, but how would it have played out in FH? There was a lot more lateral space in the Kohl Center. I'll say this, I'm pretty sure the problem with the floor and the constant wiping up was that it was humid today - not crazy humid, but humid - and the ice is in for hockey season. I think the ice under the court was causing condensation making the floor start to get wet. Izzy slipped pretty badly early on, and in that 4th set, Florida players were slipping enough I thought Wise might pull them off the floor altogether. If they ever do this again, you gotta do something about taking down the humidity, or insulate the floor better. There was no ice under the court. I sat nearly courtside and I could see concrete inside the dasherboards. I don't know what you all were seeing with GG and being terrible. Maybe go watch again and wonder why on several decent passes (by whomever) the Badgers hit it out so many times. Big blockers, depth perception, I dunno, but go watch set 1 again especially. .086 hitting through two sets. Also, when you get destroyed for 2.5 sets, it is a group effort, so not sure why anyone is pointing fingers. Plus FL showed some great d.

There are two posts to the men's hockey twitter feed, from Sept 12 and Sept 13, that show players out on the ice in the KC. I guess they could have taken the ice out between then and tonight, but that seems pretty unlikely.

The Badgers didn't give themselves a decent chance to win for the longest time in tonights match. Unforced hitting error after error. And there were plenty of plays that Florida didn't have a good block formed and we just would hit long, hit long, hit out, rinse repeat... The Badgers are and have been overated. Some players are actually regressing. Once again a good share of our errors were unforced. Florida is a good team bit nowhere near Texas, Ohio State and so forth. The box score says Wisconsin had 33 errors, and Florida had 16 blocks. So that leaves 17 as "unforced". 17 in a five-set with extra points played isn't really all that much. And how many of those "unforced" were tries at "high hands" that missed? Florida might be the tallest team Wisconsin has played in... ever? If we get to play Texas, I'll take my chances. In the meantime, take a deep breath, It's a long season, and we're just getting started. 17 attack errors in just the first two sets and its up to the Badgers to adjust to the block better. Big impact on the eventual outcome.

Whatever the case the main points importance do not hinge on which set one of Franklins 7 errors were in.

I hope the Badgers are able to take care of business against Rhode Island Sunday and Wrobel gets in!

I don’t know about you but I usually think four kills in the fifth set with no errors is pretty much the definition of being a consistent player in a crunchtime situation 🤷♀️ Especially with one of those kills happening when the other team is at match point.

Franklin - first set: two kills, two errors second set: two kills, three errors third set: two kills, two errors fourth set: zero kills, zero errors fifth set: four kills, zero errors Demps (since you are fixated on her) - first set: one kill, zero errors second set: one kill, one error third set: zero kills, zero errors fourth set: two kills, one error fifth set: zero kills, zero errors
